FRASER

I never found the prospect of fighting to the death or knock out that much fun. It was just a boring routine. Slam your fists down, show the cage what it's missing. Enjoy the fucking pain. Not until I was the one fighting against her. The woman who was steering more than my dick arise. The one who made me question myself every night why I couldn't stomach another pussy other than her. Why did I want to know the reason behind her sudden anger? Why she did brand the asshole with a bow and arrow? Why I had to kill the man just because she scared him off? Why she looked at me as if I am the last one she wants to see?

"Why did you ran after me?"

I didn't answer her. I couldn't. Maybe even she didn't want me to. So, I left. Even when I knew she spent the whole night punching that stupid old punchbag without any break. Even when I saw her giving me a cold look right before she slammed the door in my face. Even when her knuckles were probably broken and bleeding.

As I said, she was starting to mess with my head more than I'd like to admit.

Someone lets out a laugh. Xavier. "You look tense. Afraid of the cop already?"

Not cops, FBI.

For a split-second, I can still hear her saying those words. I don't register already seeking out a reply. "FBI. Didn't they chase you around the whole fucking world for few months not long ago?"

If he's insulted, he doesn't show it. He only gruffs out some mumbled words.

"What?" I ask curiously.

"I hope you fight like hell today. The Serpents would definitely love to see the woman on the ground bleeding. Don't hesitate to let the killer out or hold back." There's a self-proclaimed smirk in his face like he knew something I didn't. That kind of confidence only comes with secrecy. And the way he said it-Don't hold back.

"What the fuck that was supposed to mean?" I choke out a laugh. It's not funny.

"You will see. It's a damn surprise you will ever get, Reaper." He shrugs giving me a grin. I'm angry. It's strange to admit it. Almost as strange as the nagging feeling of something going wrong at the ring. Maybe that's what pushes me to shove his shoulder in warning.

"Don't fucking play game with me Xavier! I'm not Foxy."

He laughs. That fucker.

"I don't fucking like you. You pick fight with Foxy and me all day. Hell, if it was you with me in that warehouse, I'd gladly let them shred you to pieces." His tone is harder than before. "Snipper was the only fucker likable between all of you."

"Well, I ain't Snipper." I don't disagree with him. After all, he was the only one all of us loved. Our brother.

"No, you're not." He nods sighing.

"Reaper, it's time." We both jerk our head to see Vixen waiting for me. It's time. I step forward and she turns back to resume her walking. I know somehow even Xavier is following me. Good ol him is always up for a bloody fight.

Well, I will give him a good fight, alright.

We follow Vixen till we reach the arena. All the Serpents are waiting for a good fight. It's the way they look at me when I enter the cage. Like they want blood. They want-they want me to win against the law.

"Foxy is coming with Olivia. Do some warm-ups until then." Vixen steps back towards the bench but before she can go, I stop her.

"Where's Lethal?"

Her eyes narrow at the sudden question but she doesn't wait to answer. "He is out of town, handling some errands with Darla's father. The man is scared shitless since he heard that Lorenzo is out."

Gritting my teeth, I nod. "He didn't tell me."

"He didn't tell anyone. He didn't want anyone to worry about him alone there...well almost alone. Carter went with him, said he had some connections. You know he's been giving us good tips for a year."

Yeah, he had. Since Snipper disappeared.

"Any more questions?" She asks smiling.

Don't hold back. Let the killer out.

I only hesitate for a mile second. But even that's come up as a snarl. "Is this only a knockout or fight to the death?"

Her eyes widen and if it's wasn't a serious matter, I would have laughed at her face. Her eyes linger over my face for a moment before she lets out a snort. "Fight to the death? She's not an enemy Reaper. So don't you fucking dare to kill her in the cage. Do a fair fight but you stop the moment she's knocked out. Ok?"

But he said-

"Are we being clear?" Her tone holds authority, her gaze matching the ice-cold expression we all fear and respect at the same time. She's not Vixen, she's the Vice-president of our club. Our Queen.

"All good. I understand." I assure her with a tight smile. She gives one back and steps away for the rules to be given. Then I see her. Her expression is blank and she's clenching her fists. Until her eyes meet mine.

And, it's not my dick I have to worry about. It's my-It's my heart. It beats faster for some unknown reason. Instinct guides me over to her but not for a fight. It's to assure myself that whatever fuck Xavier said meant nothing.

"Welcome to the cage, sweetheart," I whisper near her ears. I feel her heartbeats rise and only then I can breathe. I don't have the time to analyze what and why.

Apparently, neither does Vixen. "Welcome to the fight! You know the rules. No cheating with weapons, just a clean cut fight until the knockout. Go!"

I'm not sure how many time passes before any of us make a move. We circle each other, search each other for weaknesses. Maybe even apologize for what's going to happen.

And then one swift motion we are beside each other. Fighting our demons. I watch her eyes going slack, emotionless like that night right before she forms her fist and pummels it over my face. I jerk away barely but it still stings. My knuckles throb to make a move. To slam her down on the ground.

Fuck! What am I waiting for?

"Fight back, asshole. Or don't you know how to?" Her taunting only fuels my anger. Anger at Xavier. At Lethal to go knowing the danger following him around. At Lorenzo to fuck up.

Her eyes reveal nothing when I finally move. Only to slam my fist over her ribs, making her step back a few feets. Not a good place to get a hit but she doesn't even make a sound. She takes it like a fighter and whips around to catch my foot, trapping them around her knees.

"Do you want to straddle me that bad?" It's a low blow. I know it but it doesn't stop me from giving her a satisfied grin when she shoves me off my balance.

The crowd explodes in shouts, anger, a war cry. We are too fast to react. She jabs me hard enough for me to groan out in pain but not knock out. I feel my nose bleeding, no wonder broken. I force my fists to slam down her hips. She coughs out but in a minute she's on her feet.

"Fight! Fight!"

We go on until I catch one of her arms and bring her with me hard on the ground. She should cower away from me. She can fight me back. But instead, I hear the familiar sound of snap! The familiar feeling of knocking someone out. Only then when I hover over her, I feel something wrong. My hands feel too sticky, too wet to be my-

Drip. Drip.

I let my hands drop from her body and what I see makes me more stunned than I have ever been to any fight. I stare down at her face and force myself to not let out another groan. Disgust. This is one feeling I have never felt for myself. But today I do. I look at my hands again...They are covered in her blood. But instead of the familiar red-

It's all black.
