"Hey, Amber!" Jules said perkily as she skipped to me.

I wanted to puke. She knew how much I like Luke. Everything she does annoys the fuck out of me now.

"Is there something I can help you with?" I asked, annoyed.

"Well, your dad's in the front waiting for you!" She exclaimed perkily.

It was the end of the day and I had been ignoring Jules and Luke. I couldn't stand to look at either of them.

I huffed, not saying a goodbye, and walked to the front where I saw my dad waiting... Outside of his car, in the front of the school, asking other students where I was...

"Amber Reed? Do you know where she is? What class did she have last?" He asked some random freshman. The freshman looked scared, and quickly shook her head no before running away.

"Dad, I'm right here." I announced, attempting to drag him towards his car.

"Oh, hi honey! Glad to see you!" He exclaimed as he hugged me.

I continued to try to drag him to his car, but he was awfully slow.

"Hey!" He stopped in his tracks, pointing at the one and only... Luke.

"Hey look! I didn't know Luke was right there this whole time!! Hi Luke!" My dad waved.

I silently cursed as I felt my cheeks heat up with embarrassment.

"Time to go dad."

I dragged him to his car, and forced him to drive me home quickly before he embarrassed me more. As much as I loved my dad, he was driving me insane today.

"Luke is getting so big now! He looks so mature!" My dad exclaimed as he pulled out of the school parking lot.

Mature my ass. I thought as I shook my head.

"I can already picture your wedding!" He continued.

"What the hell, dad! No!" I yelled, my voice echoing around the car.

"Aren't you two going out?" He asked, his face confused.

"No! Never was, never will!" I said, shaking my head furiously.

"Oh..." My dad answered, even more confused.

Leave it to my dad to make things really awkward and confusing...

As soon as we got home, I ran to my mom as fast as I could.

"Mom, remind me to always take my car to school no matter how lazy I am to drive in the morning." I sighed as I walked into the kitchen where she was making dinner.

"Do I even want to know what happened?" My mom asked.

"Well, first of all, dad ran around my school asking people where I was, and second, he thought Luke and I were going out and started talking about our wedding!!" I said quickly.

My mom gave me a strange look, then burst out laughing.

"Well, I can see how he would assume that, since you and Luke always would play together when you were little... In fact, I invited him and his parents for dinner tonight!" She exclaimed, tasting what she was making in the pot.

My jaw dropped. No. Way. He couldn't. All my hard work of ignoring him would go right down the drain...

His parents, Aunty Liz and Uncle Andrew, were very nice, and easy to talk to, but HIM? Why did he have to come too?

"And, I told Aunty Liz and Uncle Andrew that they can come earlier, so you two can work on your homework together." My mom added.

No. No no no no no.

"Mom. I don't need help with my homework! I'm completely fine doing it myself, so, if you could just tell them-"

The doorbell rang throughout the house.

"Oh! That must be them! Wait here honey, watch the pot while I go and open the door." She said as she quickly walked away.

I ran after her, trying to stop her.

"Nooooooo! Don't let them in!! No mom no!! I'm gonna die!! A raccoon is gonna hunt me down and kill me with black acid soap!" I screeched, using anything that could get her to stop.

"Amber! Stop it! Go watch the stove!" She yelled.

I sadly hung my head and walked back to the stove, feeling out of luck. Definitely not my best day...

"Oh! Luke, could you help Amber with her english homework? She might need help with that." My mom said, entering the kitchen with MY planner.

Pretty much sums up my family. They have no idea about the words 'personal space' and go through all of my belongings.

"Mom. I'm a writer. I don't need help with my english homework." I said, annoyed.

"How about your algebra 2 workbook?" My mom asked, referring to my planner.

"I'm fine. I can do it on my own."

"Luke can help you." My mom insisted.

"I'm crap when it comes to math." Luke reasoned.

"Yeah. He is." I agreed. Luke stuck his tongue out at me, and pretended to be hurt.

"Well, Amber can help you, Luke." And she pushed us towards my room upstairs and walked away.

Well, this is a really crappy day.
