Chapter 6

<Kirito's POV>

I walked back into town, not looking my best. I had managed to wipe of any dirt from my fight but my trouser being ripped was quite evident. It was right on my calf, so I guess I should avoid turning around to people. I had small cut on my face and well that was bout it. I noticed the crowds were now dispersed along the market road mainly eating food or dancing to music. I assumed the speeches had finished so I searched for Alice, Asuna and Eugeo. But my luck was dry and I couldn't find them. So I went to the food court mainly just to sit and think about what just happened. I had a plate in front of me as a diversion to other onlookers.

I pulled out the blade and began to look at it, I almost fell in a trance looking at it. I could see flames appear on the shiny surface and whispers or echoes of some kind of incantation. I could not take my eyes of it, well that was until I heard a voice from behind, "Kirito kun?" I immediately put the blade in my pocket and turned around only to see Asuna standing there with her hands crossed. "Oh hey Asuna..." I say nervously. She sits opposite me on the table and looks at me angrily. "We already said you had to inform us when you would leave! And what's with the cut on your face?" Her voice went from anger to concern.

"Well you see it was dark so I may have fallen because of the wires and cut myself. And also my trouser was cut during the process" I say sweat dropping, hoping she would buy the story. "Jeez you are so reckless! Don't worry I'll stitch it for you in no time. Give it to me before we got to bed" Asuna said and I nodded. And then we both began to eat. I finished my food within minutes and I just saw Asuna stare at me. "You shouldn't eat to fast or you will choke! Do I have to teach you the basics?" She said laughing.

"Looks like Asuna has found a date! Oh and he is the lost child of vecta! Come on Asuna why would you go out with a scrawny piece of shit like him... and not my looks?" I turned around and saw a boy similar age and neatly combed blonde hair stare at me with disgust. I examined his profile and saw that his skill was rather weak but he possessed a powerful sword. "Shut up Jimmy... besides this 'scrawny' boy is way better than you by light years!" Asuna said which caught me off guard. She thought that highly of me? And I simply stared at her.

"Don't tell me to shut up! Now come with me and let's have some fun at my place!" Jimmy says and grabs Asuna's hand and tries to drag her away. But I grab his hand and throw it off her. "Woman are no objects... they have the right to decide. So you should ask Asuna if she would rather go with you or stay with me" I say in a fierce tone. By now I had attracted a crowd. Something I regretted but I need to protect Asuna. "Alright fine... Asuna would you like to come with me or stay with this scrawny shit head?" He says in anger. Asuna slaps him and then walks behind me... I don't know why but I just smiled.

I sensed anger rising in Jimmy and saw him pull out a blade. I nudged Asuna back a little and Jimmy swung at me. But I caught his blade with my bare hands. One advantage of being the son of the dark lord I guess is I can catch blades like these... everyone around me gasped. "See you are a pussy cat! You wouldn't dare draw your blade!" He says in a bragging tone. I snatch the sword from him and dash at him but stop before I cut his head. I put the sword inches away from his throat.

"I am the lost child of vecta... so being known as a criminal will not affect me one bit" I say in a harsh tone and I could sense many people staring at me. I could see Jimmy begin to shake in nervousness. I don't know why I said those words but I couldn't stand slobs like him. "Alright... alright break it up guys. We shouldn't fight on an occasion like this!" It was Rinko who came bustling through the crowd. I pulled away from Jimmy and did a few tricks with the sword flicking it around before sticking it in the ground between Jimmy's legs.

"Next time don't treat women like objects or that sword will be between your eyes" I say and I turned around and began walking off. Asuna then joined me and the crowd went back to their way. "I'm sorry Asuna for causing a scene like that but I just couldn't help but get angry at what he said..." I say looking at her but she was smiling. "No Kirito... I'm glad you stood up for me... personally without you I probably would have been forced to go, because people call him the hottest in the village" Asuna said. "So do you think he is hot?" I asked out of nowhere.

"Ewww no! I don't but all the other girls do. Personally I think your the cutest of the lot" She says turning away from me. I knew she was blushing. The music then turned to slow and I grabbed her hand and spun her round. "Why thank you Asuna, shall we dance? Make it up for what just happened" I say and she gladly nodded. We then entered the centre of town where all other couples danced to the slow music. I had my hand in hers and the other around her waist.

"Hey Kirito... would you have actually cut of Jimmy's head? Back there?" She asked me. "Of course not... I would never have" I reply. "Personally I would have been happier without him around... so he would stop bothering me and now you" Asuna said but I stared into her eyes now. "I know your hatred towards him Asuna and I feel the same but killing is never the right option... all I can do is teach them a lesson by striking fear. But to kill... no. Only God has the right to judge who is right and wrong. All I am doing is trying to make people do the right thing" I say and she just stares at me in awe.

"You truly are amazing..." she whispers.

"What was that?" I say in oblivious fashion.

"Oh um... your an amazing dancer! Where did you learn it from?" She said... I now look away. It bought back memories of me and my sister. Despite living in the depths of hell she always made me happy. Teaching me how to dance and always pushed me to get a girlfriend. Huh... guilt that's all I felt right now. It should be her enjoying tonight not me. "It was my sister..." I replied. "You have a sister!? Can I meet her?" Asuna says. I could sense the excitement in her voice. Those two would definitely get along... I mentally sigh.

"Well I'm sorry but my sister has been busy with her calling... I haven't seen her in ages as well" I say now with tears forming. Asuna sensed that it was a sensitive topic, "I'm sorry, let's forget I asked and enjoy our dance..." She said and I just nodded and danced away into the night.
