POV: Michelle

****

As soon as I wake up in the hospital room I notice my mom isn't here. There's a note from her on the table next to my bed.

Sorry I couldn't stay sweetie, but I really had to go to work because of an important meeting. I see you tonight when I take you home.
PS. Mike is coming by after school, you were supposed to beterschap watching him and I couldn't get someone else this fast

Lots of love,
mum

I sigh. Just great. Mike always is of those extremely active kids and there is nothing to do around here for a boy like him.

I see my sketchbook still laying there and decide to make a new skyline drawing. I love making those as they hold memories just like you see it. A picture is always different from your own vieuw.

I look at the open window, looking just like a seat.

Smiling to myself I carefully climb in the 'seat'. It's actually pretty comfortable.

I grab a simple grey pencil and start the outlines.

****

I have been drawing for a while when I suddenly hear a voice.

"Michelle?"

I reconize Jakes voice. "Jake."

I turn around in the seat so I can face him and put my sketchbook on the chair standing next to my feet.

"Seems like ze won't be able to put the grafitti there tonight."

No shit.

"How did you know I was here? And why are you here?" I ask. I'm curious. He seems to always know it when I'm not in school. And where I am when I'm not there.

"I have my ways, and to see you."

Figured that out.

He walks towards me and I jump out the seat. Looking at his eyes just like he looks at mine. "You shouldn't be here. You shouldn't even care."

It breaks my heart saying that to my ex-best friend but I had to. He can't keep following me.

"Well, I should since I would fail the arts project without you."

Doubt that. He's the best in art class.

He continues anyway "And because I have to talk to you but not when people and cameras are around."

I huff but I tell him "I get out in a few hours. I'll be ready at nine."

"Where are we meeting?" He asks.

Without thinking about it I tell him: "The edge of the woods. Usual place."

Before it happened we often met up by this fallen tree at the edge of the woods. Let's see if he remembers.

He does.

Jake nods and gives me a soft, gentle kiss on my cheek. He leaves the room.

My cheeks turn pink and suddenly I am very aware that I'm in a hospital gown and haven't eaten or brushed my teeth all day.

I ask a nurse to get me some food and go brush my teeth in the meantime.

I eat the sandwich and start waiting for my little brother.

****

"MICHELLEE!" My brother jumps in my arms.

"Hey big guy." He grins. "Watchu wanna do?"

"I don't know."

"Aw come on, you always want to do something!"

"But mom said I had to be careful."

"Only with stuff you say. I didn't hurt anything but just reacted really bad to something Daisy said. They wanted to keep me here just to make sure nothing goes wrong but I'm fine. I'm sure." I tell him.

He sighs relieved. "Can we play some football then?"

(A/N I use The term football for The sport that also can be called soccer:))

"Sure. Just realize that I'm still not good."

"I know Michelle."

He grabs a ball from his bag and motions for me to follow him. I do so since I haven't been out my room all day and don't know the way around here.

****

"Michelle? We can leave now."

I turn around to look at my mother, standing in the doorway. I just changed into my normal clothes and can finally go home.

I nod at her and grab my small bag with art stuff. My mother talks to some nurse on the way out and I just nod at her in a way of saying bye.

We walk trough different hallways in the extreme big maze that they call a hospital.

As soon as we're outside, I feel more at peace. It's just a weird inside feeling I always have around hospitals, doctors, medicines and more chemical stuff. I don't think too much of it as it's really not that important. It just happens.

The car ride is silent. My mom wants me to say something but I don't feel the need to do so.

That's also the reason I'm happy when we get home. My dad's there and I didn't see him in two days.

He wanted too but he only got home from a work trip this afternoon and didn't have the time plus I would get home in a few hours anyway so there really was no point in coming.

"Michelle! You're home again!" He says loudly when I walk in.

"Yeah!" I chuckle. He's always excited and supportive.

"You have to do anything tonight?"

"I have to work on a project with a classmate, but I only have to leave at eight thirthy." I tell him.

"Good. Because I made some lasagne since that's your favorite but it has to bake for another 10 minutes."

"Alright. Thanks dad." I say. I hug him and go upstairs to put my stuff away.

****

"I'll probally be back late or sleep over there. So, see you guys tomorrow." I say to my parents.

"Are you sure that's smart?" My mom asks

"Ofcourse. It was just a small attack and it did no damage. I can get one anywhere mom, even when I sleep home so it makes no difference."

"It's alright Michelle. Til tomorrow!" My dad says.

"Bye!"

I finally get out the door. Finally I'm able to just talk about stuff without judgement.
