Since I am on thanksgiving break this week and I'm done with all my research papers I'm gonna write some imagines that y'all requested. Oh and I know my work isn't as great as many other writers on here but Wattpad has the option to send coins to writers and if you send some to me message me with imagines you'd like me to write for ya. You don't have to but I'd really appreciate it bc being raised by one parent is a struggle. Enough of me talking about myself but thank you guys for all the reads! "Mr. Stark! Mr. Stark!" Peter exclaimed while running through the tower.
"I'm in the kitchen kid!" Tony yelled.
"Is it true Mr. Stark?!" Peter asked.
"What's true?" Tony asked.
"That the avengers are gonna make an appearance at the animal shelter for national dog adoption day?!" Peter asked excitingly.
"Yeah it's true kid." Tony replied.
Peter gasped and stared at Tony with wide eyes.
"What?" Tony asked.
"Can I go?!" Peter asked.
"Of course kid. You're an avenger." Tony asked.
"Yes! Thank you Mr. Stark! I get to spend a day with doggos!!" Peter said while jumping up and down. "I have to tell Ned!"
Tony chuckled at the kids excitement. He watched as Peter dialed Ned's number and told him while he walked away.
*time skip to next week to national dog adoption day*
"Hey everyone! Thank you for coming to our event for national dog adoption day. We have many dogs here that are desperate for a new home and to be showered by love! I wanna give thanks to the Avengers for being here and supporting this event. And a special thank you to Tony Stark for the donation he has given to this animal shelter. We greatly appreciate it and it will be put into good use that will benefit these amazing animals." Said the owner of the shelter.
The avengers lined up and waved to the crowd. A few shared stories of their first pets and Tony encouraged everyone to adopt a dog. After the ceremony was done the avengers were given priority to be the first to see the dogs up for adoption and take them to a room where they could spend time with them. Since Sam, Bucky, Scott and Steve share a house they adopted two dogs. Clint and his family also took in two dogs.
Tony had noticed Peter stop and stare at a kennel. He wasn't crouched down and admiring at the dog but he was staring at it.
"What's wrong kid?" Tony asked
"Poor baby boy." Peter sniffed
Tony felt his heart clench when he heard the sadness in Peter's voice. He walked towards Peter and looked at the dog he was staring at. The dog stared at them with so much pain and sadness. Tony crouched down and so did Peter.
"Hey buddy." Tony cooed.
The dog looked up to him and got up slowly and walked towards the gate of the kennel. Tony put a few of his fingers through the openings on the gate and pet the dog while talking to it in a baby voice. Peter lift up his mask a little bit and Tony noticed him smiling but he also noticed a few tears.
"Mr. Stark?" Peter said.
"Yeah?" Tony asked.
"We have to take this little guy in and give him the best life we can." Peter said.
"I agree with you Pete." Tony said.
The event ended and most of the avengers and a ton of other people adopted dogs. All the dogs in the shelter were adopted. Tony adopted the dog which was only 3 years old. Tony and Peter took it to the pet store and they bought it dog food that wasn't hard, a bed, toys and a bottle because the kennel said it likes milk. Tony allowed Peter to take it home for the night so he can show Ned and Aunt May.
The next day Tony and Peter took it to the vet and the vet prescribed some medicine for it that has to be mixed in with his food.
"So what's his name?" The Veterinarian asked.
"We actually haven't named him yet." Tony replied.
"Cooper. I like the name Cooper. Can we name him Cooper?" Peter asked. (I had a dog named cooper but he disappeared. So this is in honor of him)
"Yeah! I like the sound of that." Tony said.
After taking the dog to the vet they took it back to the tower and played with it all day long and fed it. It was a very energetic dog despite being really sick. The avengers found out about the dog being sick so they all spent time with it and took it to dog parks and on walks so it can get the workout the vet suggested. They all gave the dog lots of love and Tony took it to the vet weekly. It wasn't getting better and that broke Tony's heart. He really loves this dog. He lets it sleep on his bed and it cuddles up with him.
Since Tony has attacks at night and he wakes up scared and Cooper cuddles up with him more and licks his arm. His warmth and fuzziness calms Tony down. Nobody loves this dog more than Tony.
Peter found Tony crying one day in his room while petting Cooper.
"Mr. Stark, please don't tell me he's gone" Peter asked.
"No. It's just that I don't wanna lose him. I love this dog. He's like a child to me." Tony replied.
"Yeah I understand. And I hope we get more time with him." Peter said.
They both sat on Tony's bed playing with Cooper.
*two months later*
"He's getting worse Mr. Stark." Said the vet
"The medicine isn't working?" Tony asked.
"No. We tried all that we could Mr. Stark." The vet replied. "It's just a matter of time that he's no longer here. Spend as much time as you can with him. Pets tend to distance themselves from their owners when they know they're gonna die so don't let him die alone."
Tony just nodded and picked up Cooper and left the animal hospital.
"I can't believe he hasn't gotten any better. He's helped me so much and I wish I could help him." Tony thought to himself.
A week later it was finally the day everyone has been dreading.
Peter, Tony, Aunt May and all the avengers were there in the living room with Cooper. Cooper laid on Tony's lap and Peter was petting his head. Everyone was all bundled up together talking and petting Cooper. He had tried distancing himself just like the vet said but Tony wouldn't allow it.
Cooper was licking Tony's hand for awhile and laying his head on Tony's hand since he had his hand on his lap.
Tony could feel when Cooper's body raised because of his deep breathes.
"I love you so much Cooper." Tony said as he pet him.
Cooper looked up at Tony, tilted his head, wagged his tail and did a happy bark.
It was the most energetic he had been the whole day.
Cooper snuggled himself into Tony's side while still laying on his lap. And that's when Tony felt him stop breathing and felt his body go limp.
Tony cried.
Peter cried.
Aunt May was holding Peter as she shed a fear tears.
The Avengers silently shed a few tears.
Everyone loved this dog so much. They gave it the best life they could and they hope that he enjoyed it.
Tony bought a little casket for him and they buried him in the Stark family mausoleum.
Tony would visit the grave everyday for weeks. He was broken but slowly he was putting himself back together. With the help of Peter and aunt May, Tony had a few laughs and moments of happiness. He found love in Peter. He never noticed but Peter is also like a child to him.
