After we had put everything away, I kept the silence my going to the kitchen and grabbing some quick food to eat. I figured today I would do something that hopefully wouldn't become a habit. The smell of wood soon pleased me as I went into the cabinets to find the fake salt. Opening the container, I poured the white powder into the remaining of some chicken soup, stirring it into the bowl and lacing it. I warm it up first to give to Kacey. Today, if I was correct, was a full moon, which meant one of the daily meetings. If someone didn't attent the meeting, usually they were punished. It could be from imediate whipping to getting tazed multiple times with a shock collar when they were seen. I handed the bowl to Kacey, her now messy hair puffing up like a ring of light around her due to the blonde highlights. I grabbed the acrylic paints without a word and put them away, putting the bag into the plastic bag drawer. I search the cupboard and grabbed a plastic black cup, filling it with water. I had the best drugs for lacing, non scented but still lightly salty tasting. It worked quicker if she would have a drink, even an expert wouldn't be able to tell of the sleeping medicine in their food. I walked to Kacey who now was eating on the bed, half way done. I smiled a crooked smile, handing her water to her as I plopped down next to her.
"So . . . are you going to tell me what happened back there?" Kace said sadly with a mouth full of chicken.
My eyebrows rose at this, not wanting to make her sad. "I just got distracted, that's it. I was just thinking."
"What was so important that driving properly had to wait?" She pointed out.
"You." I say straight-forwardly.
"What do you mean me?" Kacey says, stopping her spoon halfway to her colored lips.
Shit I really did it now.
"I mean are you really okay with living with me? Am I not annoying to live with or problematic with how I'm so stern. You just moved in with me and problems already began happening! Aren't you worried for your own well being?" I began, not being able to stop my mouth from venting. "What if something worse happens, what if something happens to me, what will you do then? What if I make it uncomfortable because I confirm my sexuality! Why do you trust me so much? I could be a creep for all you know!" I ramble, my voice cracking around the end as I see the sadness on her face continue.
"I'm comfortable because I'm with you. Even with the bad, I'm still okay right? You have been fine too. Ive known you for maybe a year now or more, I've known you long enough to know you aren't someone with bad intentions." She coos, pulling me weakly in with a hug.
I hug back, holding onto the food she held between us as she went limp. I gently lay her back as I grab onto the food and place it by her bedside, her empty water cup on the floor. I put it by the bedside too, tucking Kacey in with the sheets around her. After she was encased, I stripped of my clothes and put on the velvet hoodie, mask, scrunchie, and velvet sports pants for today, encased in scarlet. Fitting. I assure my blade is in spot along with my pack, leaving my smartphone behind. I hold for reassurance my necklace as I pull out one of the stolen knives from my clothes drawer. I begin heading out, walking behind the buildings through the crisp, dry, cold air as the moon shines fully ahead of me. Taking all they alleys as possible, I make it to the bar, pulling my hood back as I head to the familiar metal door. Knocking onto the metal door the designated times, I call put to Indigo.
"C'mon moron, we have important shit to do today." I yell out with a snap in my tone.
"Howl for me please Mrs. Scarlet, and I'll let you in." he taunted through the door with his deep, arousing voice.
- BANG BANG - I kick the door as he finally opens it with a deep chuckle.
"Violent. Always filled with rage, aren't you dear?" He charms, looking at me through his eyelashes.
Rolling my eyes, I decide do go with it.
"Yea because I have to see you everyday, who wouldn't be pissed?" I spit.
He feighns hurt and dramatically puts his large hand over his forehead, looking away as he opens the door. "Oh, what ever should I do when the love of my life doesn't love me back?"
I gently push him back and chuckle at his extra preformance. "The boss in the lounge or downstairs?"
"Downstairs, tables are set up, just sit down where you want my dear." He says, winking at me through his indigo mask, matching with his indigo suit. Fancy.
Walking downstairs, I feel the cold air encase me from the concrete walls not having seen a day of sunlights. Before the entrance was a vast row of plastic tables with chairs propped along the center of the room, people in colorful masks and outfits seated and conversing quietly. The room just seemed to have quiet mubles signlaing life, and right at the end sat a large buff man. That was the Boss, the one who made the company. He wore a white aluminum Zorro mask with a full white tux suit, similar to Indigo's except Indigo's was well . . . Indigo. I took a seet at the opposite end of the boss, near an empt seat and a girl in a saphire dress with a matching ball mask. Violet isn't here . . . Where could she have gone? It's an important meeting. . . Did she die? But she just examines to assure everything is in check with trades . . . Looking around through the shades of colors, I don't see a single person with a violet wig and outfit seated. The meeting would soon start, how coukd she miss it? A loud throat being cleared is heard above the murmer of voices, everyone's head looking up in sync as Indigo sits down in the empty seat next to me.
"Hello my fellow wolves. We will now commence the anual staff meeting. I would like to start by stating the company has made partnership with the Celestials who will also be trading with us stock for our online store. I would also like to give applause to Indigo for working so efficiently lately, along with our astounding worker, Raven. - Clap Clap Clap Clap - An uprising worker who joined as for a while now too, our Violet and Scarlet! - Clap Clap Clap - Our sales have lately increases by 15% in the last month due to supply quality and delivery. The company has been growing astoundingly, finishing the new center in New York. Those who will be moving will be getting a higher position or an upgrade to their paycheck, travels paid for them. Does anybody have suggestions for more efficiency?" he finishes, his loud voice booming through his voice chsnging device to sound gruff, deep and wicked.
"Yes Saphire?" he states.
"We can have a more efficient secretary system to help put calls where best gone. Like backup, changes in trades, and such." she rings in a high - jingle voice.
"To add to that, we can also get more availability to vehicles for those who are making the trades directly to customers or from. That way, they get speed to come back and have everything done quicker." Said a girl to my left with a full metallic green outfit.
These suggestions dragged on for a while until the meeting finally ended an hour after it began. Everybody walked out, mumbling to each other when I felt a large hand hold my shoulder, stopping me from my path out the entrance.
"Did Violet not show? You know what thise means." Indigo said, his deep voice vibrating in my ear in a low wisper.
Turning around I whisper back."Just wished it didn't end like this. Let's go easy on her whatever we end up doing." I continue, grabbing another luggage bag to trade.
This one was a sports bag for same day delivery at a different spot, near my apartment. Walking, I look up at the sky. The pale pearl moon was covered by a cloud, giving it a tinted brown color in the starless sky. The clouds covered the sky with the unatural color. I look at the gray tainted road as I made it to the familiar tree I was told to meet. A person dressed in all black comes from behind it handing me a sports duffle bag. I trade with him the one given to me and I look through it. Felts of varietys are there. I continue to head back to the bar, dropping my package where Violet would have been ready to inspect it. I sigh and leave back to the way I came from, home. Where is she?
