Chapter 2

I woke up in a loud thud, bumangon na ako and saw tita's luggage fell down the stairs.

"nagising ba kita? ibababa ko na sana itong maleta ko kaso sa sobrang bigat ay naihulog ko. Go and eat your breakfast downstairs. Flight na natin mamayang madaling araw make sure to pack everything meg"

"yes tita" nagmadali akong kumain para makaligpit. I made sure all my clothes and shoes are secured in my luggage. 

"tita tapos na ako mag-impake" umupo ako sa tabi niya. We were watching tv ang eating chips nang may inabot siya saking brown envelope.

"open it" I'm in awe ng makita ko sa loob ang dalawang susi, letter from a bank na nakasulat ang pangalan ko sa isang card, at isang kontrata sa isang residence. 

"I paid your whole year in school, yang susi para yan sa kotse na binili ko sayo I know how you miss your old car but since you need to sell it, I decided to get you a new one instead para di ka na rin mahirapan mag commute, here's your credit card for your needs at yang kontrata andiyan ang address ng condominium na titirahan mo and the default key you can change the passcode when you get there" I can't thank her enough, I was teary-eyed and hug her. 

"Tita, I will never fail you" 

Saturday morning

I wasn't able to sleep, I'm so excited for what's ahead of me. We're already sitting in the plane, nag-uusap kami ni tita reminiscing mom. Hindi rin siya nagkulang na payuhan ako since living alone is a bit hard. After an hour and 45minutes nakalapag na kaming Manila. Kumain muna kami sa loob ng airport habang hinihintay naming magboard na ang plane na sasakyan ni tita pauwing Washington.

"I don't want to leave without you Meg labag to sa kalooban ko pero dahil pursigido kang mag-aral dito and not with us in Washington with your cousins-"

"Tita, I'll be fine. Trust me. Pakisabi po sa kambal na miss na miss ko na sila. I'll see you all soon and send my regards to tito as well" niyakap ko na si tita at hinalikan sya sa pisnge.

"THIS IS THE FINAL BOARDING CALL TO ALL PASSENGERS BOOKED ON FLIGHT PR892 BOUND TO Washington DC PLEASE PROCEED TO GATE 9 IMMEDIATELY AGAIN-"

"Take good care of yourself Meg gamitin mo yang binigay ko sayo para sa mga kailangan mo" When I can no longer see tita from the boarding gate, I escorted myself out and hailed a cab going to my condo. 

Luxema Condominium and Residences

I went directly to the receptionist. "Hi, I'm Princess Megan Bernardino"

"Oh yes Ms.Bernardino I was expecting you today. Unit 814 do you need someone to help you with your luggage?"

"No I'm fine, thanks Chloe" I went straight-ahead for the elevator and pressed the 8th floor. Naka carpet ang buong hallway at may mga halaman sa kilid. I arrived infront of my place when the next unit's door opened. He was in a hurry to go after the elevator, babatiin ko sana siya and let him know I moved in next to him. I shrugged and just entered my passcode. Namangha ako sa nakita ko, it's only studio type pero ang ganda. It's fully furnished. The wooden floor compliments with the furry carpet around the king size bed. 

I look around and realize I am starting my life again. After mom died this is my first time to feel genuine happiness..

finally life is in favor of me...
