This is just a story I thought of on a whim. Hope you like it:)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I was late. Correction, I was VERY late. It was the annual ball of my father's firm, which was hosted every year at New Year's Eve. And every year my siblings and I were always forced to attend and be on our "Best Behavior". These words were usually aimed at me.

I was what people would call a rebel, an outcast if you would. I dressed differently, listened to different music and liked different things than the rest of my family and of course most of the people at my school. My siblings didn't care about it, but it always rubbed my parents the wrong way somehow, they couldn't understand why I was that so different.

Which was why my father told me that if I do anything that would embarrass him or degrade his reputation in front of his co-worker or his boss, I could kiss my freedom goodbye. No more computer, no iPod, no TV, and worst of all, he would take away my car!

Which brings me back to right now. The ball was starting in half an hour and thanks to a detention I got, I was nowhere near being ready.

"Stupid Mr.Taylor!! Giving me that stupid detention for no good reason, making me late! Now Dad's probably going to take away my car!" I kept muttering in anger while hurrying around my room trying to get ready.

I ripped off my shirt and a low whistle sounded from behind me. I froze and turned to see a guy, correction, a really hot guy, leaning on the window-sill. I opened my mouth to scream but before I could make a sound, he clamped his hand on my mouth, effectively cutting on any sound I could have made.

"Relax sugar. I'm not going to hurt you. In fact I'm here to help you. Do you understand that?"

Slowly I nodded.

"Ok, now I'm going to remove my hand, but you have to promise me you'll be quiet. So do you promise that you'll be quuiet Liza?"

Again I nodded and eyed him warily as he moved his hand.

As he backed away from me I got a good look at him. I hated to admit it, but he was really good looking. He had straight black hair, which was cut emo-style, with his fringe covering his vibrant forest green eyes. From what I could see, he was tall and his shirt fit him like a second skin, showing off his wash-board abs.

All in all, and under different circumstances, I would definitely date him, I thought reluctantly.

"Who are you? What do you want? How did you even get past the security systems?" I fired question after question at him.

"Woah there. Slow down princess." He laughed. "My name is Darren, but most people call me GGTW." he said cockily.

I raised an eyebrow and said, "What kind of a nickname is GGTW?" I sneered.

He smiled arrogantly and said, "It stands for God's Gift To Women. And I have to say it has never been returned after delivery."

I rolled my eyes. "Great, just what I need, another arrogant guy in my life thinking he's all that!" I sighed. "Look, I don't know how you got here, and I don't know what you want, but what I do know is that my father is going to have my head if I'm not at a ball in 15 minutes, and I'm not even close to being ready yet."

Just then my phone beeped signaling a new text message. Upon reading it, my heart sank and I nearly threw the phone at the wall in anger.

"Great! Just great! Now not only am I going to be late, I'm also going without a date! That is just perfect!"

All during my ranting Darren just stood there, watching me with a smirk on his face.

"Would you relax, I told you I'm here to help you, you have nothing to worry about." he said calmly while I just looked at him like he was crazy.

"Look I'm what most people would call a Fairy Godfather. Everyone has them, I just happen to be yours."

"Uhuh. Yeah sure. Look Darren, if that even is your real name, just get out and leave me to my doom, and by the way, I know exactly how many pieces of silver there are in the cabinets so don't even think about stealing anything!"

He sighed, "Ok I get it, you don't believe me. Well I'm just going to have to prove it to you now don't I?"

With a snap of his fingers the room flooded with light, momentarily blinding me. When I could see again, I was wearing a strapless floor-length ballgown. It was black and had silver sequins that shone in the light. My hair was curled and pulled to the side and my make-up was done to perfection.

"Believe me now?" Darren asked smirking.

I just stood there open-mouthed.Then I noticed he was wearing a tuxedo.

"Why are you wearing a suit?" I asked confused.

He smiled at me, a bright, genuine smile, and I was taken aback at the change in his appearance.

"I can't let you go to a ball on your own! What kind of Fairy Godfather would I be if I did that?" He said offering me his arm.

I laughed and tookit. "Well then. Lead the way Mr.Fairy Godfather."

We arrived at the ball right on time and I had the satisfaction of seeing everyone's jaws drop at our entrance. Darren lead me to the dance floor and we danced to Avril Lavigne's Keep Holding On.

Standing ther I felt sad. Darren noticed and asked me, "What's wrong love?"

"You're going to leave.." It wasn't a question, it was a statement. "Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow but someday, you will."

Even though I only knew Darren for a few hours, I felt a feeling of safety when I was near him, a feeling that I had never felt before. But like all good things in my life, I was going to lose it. I felt sad that it was soon going to be gone.

He sighed and was quiet, "I wasn't just sent to you to be you're Fairy Godfather. My bosses were constantly watching you, they knew how hard your life was, and yet you refused to change who you were, and so they decided to give you something that would help make your life happier. And so they sent you me."

I couldn't believe what I was hearing. "You mean...You get to stay? For good?"

He laughed and nodded, "For good. And I guess now would be a good time to mention that my bosses weren't the only ones who watched you live your life...I did too, and I fell in love with you more and more as time went by. I was thrilled when they told me I was to become your boyfriend."

I arched one eyebrow, "Wow I have my own personal stalker," I said with a smirk.

He laughed and said, "You bet babe, and you can count on the fact that I won't just be stalking you from afar now. No now...you're mine."

I blushed and said to him, "I can live with that."
