I flipped through the book aggressively, I was currently sitting in the library helping dean try to solve a case. But I had no idea what anything meant.
"If this is what you meant by bonding it sucks, I am so bad at looking for lore," I groaned.
"You've just gotta concentrate," he told me. I watched as he read through the book with a great amount of patience, which was something I would never be able to do.
I have very little patience when it came to anything, especially reading lore, and what's worse my head was throbbing. I often got headaches from reading. "Why don't you take a break?" He suggested, I nodded gratefully and grabbed myself a bottle of water and an aspirin from the kitchen.
"Hello Ellie," a voice said from behind me, making me jump and spill some of my water. "Dammit cass don't do that!" I snapped at him. "Apologies."
"So what do you want?" I asked him. "I was just checking up on you all, making sure no one had run away or been killed," he stated with a chuckle. I rolled my eyes and walked away from him, I was certainly not in the mood to be made fun of. I felt useless, I hated feeling useless. It was almost as if there was no point in even being alive, You weren't helping yourself, you weren't helping anyone else, you were simply just there. As if sending this, Cass rested his hand on my shoulder, "are you alright?" He asked me gently.
I nodded my head. Was he expecting me to answer Any differently? What was I going to say? No I don't feel good, I feel useless and being cooped up in this bunker is only making me feel worse. Of course I couldn't say that, so I stuck with the easy option, saying I was fine.
I sat back down beside Dean and continued to read, rubbing my temples with my fingers. "You don't have to help me if you don't want to, I know how boring this must be for you, considering you aren't really going to be hunting anything anyway."
I sighed, I genuinely wanted to go on a hunt with them but I knew I had to improve. All of a sudden Sam walked in with a teenage boy. He looked about my age and he was beautiful.
Dean stood up and rushed over, as did Cass. "Jack!" They goth yelled at the same time, pulling him in for a hug. I raised my eyebrows, who the hell was jack?
"Ellie, come her for a moment, this is jack... Lucifer's son," Cass introduced me. "This is Ellie, Dean's daughter."
I smile gently at him and he returned it with a curt nod, "it's a pleasure to meet you," he stated. "If he's Lucifer's son does that mean he has powers?" I asked. "Not exactly, Lucifer actually stole his grace and kept it as his own, when he betrayed us all," Sam explained.
I nodded my head, not completely understanding. They hadn't explained everything to me yet and I still had a lot to catch up on, I would know it all eventually.
"So umm, wanna help look for lore?" I offered. He nodded and we both set into the library. "What exactly are we searching for?" He asked. "A wendigo, we need to learn as much about it as possible for Sam and Dean's next hunt," I explained. "So what, you're like their assistant?"
"No, I just help every now and then, I'm more like a student. They train me most days, you should really come some time, considering you don't have your powers."
He agreed and we spent a while conversing until silence overcame us as we were searching for as much information as we could. "Come on guys, dinner," Sam called us from the doorway. "Oh thank god," I mumbled, my stomach letting out a loud rumble. "If I were you I wouldn't thank God, I don't like him that much, he's not a great grandfather," jack stated with a small smile.
I felt myself giggle at this, jack wasn't so bad, I could get used to having him around.
We all took a seat around the table, Dean had cooked us chicken curry and rice, and I quickly ate it all, not bothering to join in on their conversation. "Well you really are hungry aren't you?" Sam asked with a laugh. I glared at him as I stuffed the fork into my mouth once again, having a glass f water to wash it all down.
"Hey, can we talk later?" Cass whispered into my ear, making sure that no one else noticed. I looked at him with curiosity but nodded nonetheless, what could he possibly want?
