Korra and I

Chapter 4

I walked over to the edge of roof and bent the snow to carry me down. When I got down I made my way to hall and ran into someone, Korra.

We both just stood there uncomfortably unsure of what to say. I swallowed,"Kor-"

"I'm sorry" she said interrupting me. Did she just say she's sorry? Wow. That's new.

"Really?" I asked.

"Yeah" she huffed,"I forgot what today was and I should've been more considerate of your feelings and-"

"Korra!"

She stopped wide eyed,"Yeah?"

I laughed,"Who are you?  It's okay Korra. It's silly really, you and mother were right." I admitted,"It IS silly to mourn over someone who would've wanted me to be happy and someone I've never even knew, but it still hurts, just a little."

She smiled at my response,"Well it seems like we're good, right?" 

Smiling I responded to my best friends question,"Right."

"Then what are we doing standing here?  I'm hungry for a bowel of sea prunes."

She swung her arm around me and started to walk, "there you are" I chuckled.

We walked to the hall together got our food and sat down. Korra got what she was craving, she got a bowel of stewed sea prunes mixed with some seaweed noodles and a glass of water. I got a small bowel of seaweed noodles and a kale cookie.(A/N I googled water tribe food this is all legit)

Korra looked at my plate with disapproval,"What?" I asked.

"You need more food. That's what a six year old would eat" I sighed.

"I know but-"

Korra rolled her eyes and walked into the kitchen a few moments later she came back with three more kale cookies and fried sea cucumber,"Here."

"That's too much Korra" I said looking at the food.

"Oh, well one of those cookies were for me." She removed one of the cookies.

I sighed,"Look" she said,"I don't care what Master Piu said because you are FINE now eat."

I had a small portion of food because I was told by Master Piu I should "ration my eating habits to move with more ease." Oh please he basically yelled, You're fat! in my face when I'm not. It's this stupid coat! I didn't tell my mother because- I don't know. In my opinion maybe I was in a tubby phase but I'm happy with my body now and CAN NOT ruin it.

I looked at the pickled fish and two kale cookies Korra had gotten me,"Sorry." I stood up and brought the food back to the kitchen and when I came back Korra was talking to Master Arata, Katara, Piu, and Taichi when I approached they turned to leave. 

"We will see you in an hour"said my mother," and I am glad you too have made up" she said with a smile.

I sat down,"What was that all about?"

Korra smiled,"They moved my fire bending test to today because Tenzin is arriving a day early!"

"Really?"

"Yeah hurry up and eat I wanna practice my test is in an hour." She chimed.

"Okay, okay." I started to eat. 

It is kind of weird having a brother that is twenty-seven years older, he doesn't even feel like an older brother because 1. I never see him 2. He is too stuck up and OLD 

Bumi however is a very annoying older brother. I don't see him a lot but when I do it's always "Hey little sister" gives me a noogie, and more little sister this and that. But all differences aside I want to see Tenzin. However It is kind of weird to be an aunt if your oldest niece is only six years younger.

I quickly eat my food and Korra tuggs me to the platform to practice. We practice for about forty minutes, she'd shoot fire at my head, I'd dodge it at the last millisecond, then I'd hit her with snow while she was laughing, stuff like that.

Now it's my turn to laugh,"That's what you get" I joked as I extended my arm to help her up.

"Oh yeah" she pulled my arm making me fall into the snow.

"Agh really" I wiped the snow off my face and jumped on her, we were laughing rolling around in the snow trying to keep the other on the bottom.

"Ahem."

We both stopped and immediately got up brushing the snow off as our body's our faces were red with embarrassment. "Uh sorry" I apologized.

"You should be" Master Piu said sternly,"You two are both grown women acting like you're children, this is foolishness."

I kept my head down,"They're still young" my mother chimed and brushed some snow off the top of my head.

Master Piu grunted and Master Arata cleared his throat,"Avatar Korra it is time for your firebending test."

 Korra jumped,"Yes!"

I smiled,"You'll do great. I'm going to the watch tower to keep an eye out for Tenzin, yeah?"

"Yeah." She responded.

"Kids these days" Piu complained,"they don't speak proper grammar now do they?"

I rolled my eyes and I left making my way to the west watch tower to keep an eye out for my brother and his family.
