The Silent Lover (Konan x Mute Reader Modern AU)

Oh look, a story that’s not full of angst. Although, it’s another Konan x reader story. It was the only story I could think of, so once I had the idea I rolled with it. I should also explain the italics since there are so many. Also, you are able to type fast and have conversations with people, despite being mute, like Celty does in Durarara. Also, you and Konan are twenty-five years old.

Konan was currently sitting in a small café as she waited for her girlfriend, (F/N), to meet her there. The blue haired woman had only ordered some water since she didn’t want to order any other drink just yet. As she was waiting Konan’s mind drifted to the (H/C) haired woman. ‘I wish I knew what (F/N) sounded like. For as long as I have known her, she’s never been able to talk. I know that she was in an accident, but she’s never gone into detail about it. I never want to make her uncomfortable when it comes to that accident since she doesn’t like to talk about it. I know that she will tell me when she is ready. I just wish there was a way to fix her vocal cords.’ Just then, Konan felt a hand on her shoulder. Looking to her right, Konan saw the (H/C) haired woman that she had been waiting for. “(F/N), when did you get here?”

(F/N) sat down in front of Konan as she grabbed her phone and quickly typed a message, “I haven’t been here long, but when I got here, I noticed that you were lost in thought. What were you thinking about?”

“What you would sound like since I’ve never heard your voice before.”

The (H/C) haired woman averted her eyes as she held up her phone after she was done typing her reply, “You know I don’t like to talk about my accident.”

Konan placed her hand on (F/N)’s free hand and said, “I know, and I don’t want to change anything about you. My mind just drifted to you, that’s all.”

After typing her reply, (F/N) looked back at the blue haired woman and smiled as she held up her phone, “It’s okay. I’ve wondered that too sometimes.”

The blue haired woman looked at her girlfriend slightly confused and said, “Wondered what..?”

“What I sound like as an adult.”

“At least I’m not the only one who thinks about that.”

Just then, two drinks were placed in front of the two women, “Here are the drinks you’ve ordered, (F/N).”

Looking towards the voice, (F/N) saw the waitress and nodded before she focused back on Konan as she took a sip of her hot chocolate. Noticing the look on her lover’s face, (F/N) silently laughed as she held up her phone once her message was typed, “Go on, ask you question, Love.”

“How often do you come here?”

Placing her drink down, (F/N) typed on her phone before showing it to Konan, “Pretty much every day during the winter to get hot chocolate. So they know my order, although I have told them to remember your order as well for days like this.”
