<Where we left of>
"Fine, but we're going to need to make some rules."
"Rules?" Jack cocked his head to the side.
"Yeah. Like, we don't tell anyone it's fake." I explained.
"You have to wear my sweatshirts and football jersey."
"And you have to wear my scrunchie on your wrist."
We talked about more rules until we came up with a list of seven rules.
1. Y/n and Jack will not tell anyone about their relationship being fake.
2. Y/n will wear Jack's clothes.
3. Jack will wear y/n's scrunchies.
4. Y/n and Jack will hold hands when walking in public.
5. Y/n and Jack will be overly affectionate when Rachel is around.
6. Y/n and Jack will not flirt with anyone else for as long as the fake relationship lasts.
7. Y/n and Jack will sit next to each other at lunch and walk with each other in the hallway.
"How are we going to tell everyone about us?" Jack asks.
"Let's just make it up as we go along." I say taking Jack's hand.
We walk along the water's edge until we get back to our friends. They're sitting on blankets around a campfire laughing and talking, but everyone goes silent when they see us. All eyes are on our hands and Anna looks like she's about to push me into the fire.
"So are you guys together now or...?" Anna asks.
"Yeah." Jack says squeezing my hand.
We sit down next to each other and Jack puts his arm around me.
"Ha! You owe me five bucks now Tyler! And
y/n how dare you lie to me." Lexi says, pretending to be offended.
"Lie about what?"
"You said you didn't like Jack but I knew it!"
"Whatever." I say rolling my eyes and smiling.
We stay outside until the sun sets and is replaced by the stars. Jack lays back so I do too. He pulls me closer to him and my heart starts racing. I feel the muscles in his arms flex as they wrap around my torso. I stare up at the stars and see a thousand twinkling lights. The stars seemed to cover the entire sky.
"It's so beautiful." I whisper.
"Well I guess I am surrounded by beautiful things." He whispers back.
"Awwww." I say blushing.
After a while I sit up and stretch only to get shot by the daggers coming out of Anna's eyes. Everyone starts heading up to the beach house but Jack and I stay to put out the campfire.
"So was Lexi telling the truth when she said you told her you didn't like me?" Jack stares at me and I can feel his eyes on my face.
"Um, yeah I guess. Why?"
"No reason." He looks back up at the sky and I mentally slap myself.
If I ever had a chance with him it's gone now. I look at him and fall in love all over again. The way his hair falls loosely around his face. And when a piece falls in his eyes he casually brushes or blows it out of the way. His light brown eyes that can pull you in with a single glance. His muscular arms that could lift you up and spin you around for all of eternity. His entire face which can pack so much emotion into a single expression. His smile, that not only lights up a room, but your soul. His mouth, which says the funniest things but can sweet talk it's way into anything. Every time I look at him it's like I'm noticing all of these things again, each time better than the previous. Every time I look at him I fall even more hopelessly in love with him. It's like tripping in a small hole but the hole gets deeper and deeper until it's impossible to climb out. It's also incredibly lonely.
"We should go up to the house." Jack says shaking me from my thoughts.
I follow him up the stairs and everyone is asleep except for Anna and Tyler. They're sitting on the couch on their phones.
"Goodnight." I say to them.
"I gotta talk to you." Tyler says to Jack.
"Ok I'll be right back." Jack replies walking me towards the room I share with Lexi. I see Anna craning her neck to see what we're doing. Jack holds his arms out and I walk closer to him. He pulls me closer to him, putting his arms around my middle. I put mine around his neck and put my head on his shoulder. We stay like this for a while, arms around each other, lost in our own thoughts.
"Goodnight." Jack whispers in my ear taking my hand. He draws a heart in it with his finger and kisses it. He smiles and walks back to the living room to talk to Tyler. I get ready for bed as quietly as I can. I splash my face with water and try to wash the nervousness away. What if someone finds out what Jack and I are doing. What are my parents going to say? My dad seemed to like Jack the first time they met. At least I wouldn't have to break the news to them for a couple days. I dried my face and stumble around in the dark until I find my bed. When I finally get comfortable, the light beside Lexi's bed turns on.
"Y/n, tell me everything." Lexi says smirking.Jack's POV
After Y/n goes to her and Lexi's room I go back to the living room to talk to Tyler. Anna is still sitting on the couch, but gets up when I walk in.
"Night Tyler. Goodnight Jack. Boop!" She says smiling at me and tapping my nose.
I'm not sure how to respond so I smile and give Tyler a confused look.
"Hey, Jack has a girlfriend now Anna." Tyler calls after her.
"Oh, um. I know." She walks into the room she shared with Shayla and slams the door shut.
"So Jackie boy, tell me everything." Tyler says smirking.
