<3 weeks later>
Y/n POV
It's been 3 weeks since Jack and I started our fake relationship. Summer vacation had made it easy to keep it semi-private. School meant having to endure the staring and whispering in the hallway. I'm not sure I can handle it. I force myself out of bed and get dressed. I do my hair because it's the first day of school so I might as well attempt to look nice. I eat breakfast and watch YouTube. I'm putting my shoes on when I get a text from Jack. I walk outside and sit down in the passenger seat of his car.
"Are you ready?" He asks.
"Ready as I'll ever be I guess."
I turn the radio on and crank up the volume, hoping music will help calm my nerves. Jack pulls into the parking lot for Juniors and finds a spot (conlon) close to the doors.
"Okay so we walk in holding hands, then go to our lockers." I say.
"Yep. Then I go to your locker and walk you to your first class." He repeated.
We had planned out the most effective way to make our relationship believable. We get out of the car and he takes my hand. When we walk through the front doors everyone's eyes gravitate towards us. Soon we're joined by Lexi and Tyler.
"Yes! We have every class except for Lab together!" Lexi squeals.
I smile, too nervous to do anything more. The bell rings, signaling the beginning of first period.
"I'll see you later." Jack says kissing my cheek.
"Bye." I say, taking a deep breath. I plaster a confident look on my face and make my way to Lab.

<time skip brought to you by the gum in my mouth right now>

After half a day of boring classes I'm ready for lunch. Jack is waiting for me when I get to my locker. We walk to lunch hand in hand. So far the only direct confrontation we've had is from one of Jack's football friends. He simply fist bumped Jack and congratulated him. The lunch room opens a whole new door of opportunities for criticism.
The volume immediately lowers when we walk in. Jack pulls me to a table with some of his football friends. Tyler and Lexi walk over with their trays and join us.
I see Anna glancing at me from her seat about halfway across the room. After the night Jack and I announced our relationship she left Lexi's beach house. She completely stopped talking to me and Lexi. I miss her.
"You okay?" Jack asks.
"Yeah." I say snapping out of my daydream.
About 5 minutes before lunch ends Rachel Kall slowly walks to our table. She stands behind my chair for about 30 seconds.
"Hi Rachel." I say as cheerfully as I can.
"So you're dating Jack?" She asks, stone faced.
"Yeah I am."
"Hm. Prove it." Everyone's heads turn towards us.
"What?"
"Kiss." She looks at me smugly.
"Woah, woah, woah." Jack says. "I don't have to prove anything to you."
"Oh." Rachel looks confused. She silently turns around and walks back to her seat.
"What the hell just happened?" Lexi asks.
"I have no idea." I reply.
Rachel keeps her distance for the rest of lunch but as soon as Jack and I leave, she's following close behind. This continues to happen all day until Jack stops walking and turns around to face her.
"Can you stop?"
"Uh-"
"Stop following us. It's creepy. Can you please let me and my girlfriend walk in peace?" Jack snaps.
"Do you really want that as your girlfriend?" She asks nodding her head towards me. My mouth falls open but before I can speak Jack starts to yell.
"Ok, first of all, yes I do want Y/n as my girlfriend. Second, I would never in my life date you. You honestly couldn't give me all the money in the world to even touch you. I'm tired of you acting like you own me or something. Just because my parents literally forced me to let you stay in my apartment doesn't mean a thing. Can you get that through your head? Because I have a girlfriend, so you need to accept that and move on."
Jack turned around, takes my hand and we walk away. I grab my stuff and walk to Jack's car. Once we pull out of the parking lot I start to laugh.
"That was awesome." I say between breaths. Jack starts to smile and he has to pull over because he's laughing so hard.
"I can't believe you did that." I say when I regain control of myself.
"I know right. I don't even know how I came up with all of that." Jack says still laughing.
When Jack can drive again, we head to a Starbucks.
"Want to drive around for a while?" He asks once we have our drinks.
"Sure."
We chat about school and sports. I'm really just trying to avoid the question that's been nagging me since we left school. What now? Rachel knows how Jack really feels so do we keep going to make sure she doesn't try anything or break it off? I don't want this to end.

A/n: sorry this one is kinda short. I haven't published a chapter in a month and I needed to put something out. Stay tuned for more chapters soon. I'm on winter break now which means more time to write! Yayyyy! Also, thank you for almost 100 reads on this story! That's so crazy! I love yooouuu🤩
