ADA KAURWAS doing fine. Perhaps even better than fine. She had a job that she loved and was good at, a job that allowed her to earn enough to live in New York — those dark wizards aren't going to catch themselves, after all!
So, all in all, completely, perfectly fine.
And then, of course — as it does with everyone and everything that is doing fine — fate started to get other ideas. Fate also going by the name of Gellert Grindelwald.
So, Ada is no longer fine, and with a certain egotistical pure-blooded maniac being the reason why, she resolutely decides she has to get her own back. However, she does so quietly, as her strain of work does not allow for personal agendas of retribution.
A temporary transatlantic move from MACUSA to the British Ministry seems rather conducive to her scheme, however there's a slight catch. This catch also going by the name of Theseus Scamander.
Who, Ada must clarify, is by no means a catch himself in any way shape or form, and besides he's engaged.
Ada finds herself to be Theseus Scamander's antithesis in many ways.
He was the veteran war hero; she was the equally phenomenal Auror whom nobody knew of. He was tactical and strategic; she was impulsive and vigilant. He worked for the Ministry of Magic in London; she worked for MACUSA in New York City.
Theseus Scamander also hadn't let Gellert Grindelwald slip through his fingers.
The two couldn't be more different if they tried, perhaps that's Ada found herself acting so indifferent in his presence. And, him, being her antithesis, found himself being incredibly charming in hers.
Still, a little challenge is nothing new to Ada, she's sure she can execute her duties despite the infuriating interference of her new colleague.
However, as we all know, opposites attract.
