Shadow's POV
"I just hope they can get here in time before it's too late."
"Mate, he's already gone."
I stood there, shell-shocked, my hands still on Espeon's hips. I've never felt so helpless in all my life. I could've sworn I saw his fur twitch but I shook the creepy feeling off. This was all my fault. I should never have brought this here. I should've just let them kill me instead. It should be me in his place.
Jolteon knelt down next to Leafeon and his brother, staring at the once deep ocean blue eyes of Flareon, that now faded to a sickeningly grey colour. Leafeon, on the other hand, had his face in his bloody paws, the red staining his fur. I thought he was crying, but I couldn't see for the scarlet that dripped slowly down his pale face.
I slipped back into the shadows, and slowly backed into the corridors, running to catch up to Eevee. I reached the stairs and sprinted up them, wheezing when I got to the top. I sprinted up another seven flights of stairs until I reached the floor Eevee lived on. I rushed past Jolteon's room and found Eevee's bedroom at the end of the corridor. I carefully pushed open the door to see Eevee lying in bed, her eyes shut, but I knew she wasn't asleep.
I took in a deep breath before tip-toeing into the predominantly chartreuse room, a shade in between yellow and green, the result of two eeveelutions arguing about whether her room should represent them or the other. Eventually they combined paint rollers and the room ended up a combination of said eeveelutions. I don't think I need to clarify who those two were. It was Jolteon and Leafeon.
My bare feet brushed against the soft carpet, tickling the pads. I took in the sight of the room, I had never seen it properly before. The light was switched off, but I knew Eevee was awake anyway, so I lit my forehead ring and marvelled at the wonder of the little one's room.
The first thing I spotted was the colourful blue round rug in the middle of the floor. It gave the illusion that there was a pool in the middle of the room. Speaking of pool, there was a small table in the corner, set up as if someone had started to play, but nobody had joined them. A tall cabinet stood in another corner, looking quite menacing if it wasn't for the butterfree stickers that decorated it. In contrast, a small dresser was next to it, with a dimly-lit umbreon lamp sat on top. That made my heart flutter. Eevee really did love us all, very much. Cross-stitched framed pieces of us all hung from the wall above the bed. I wonder who made those. Espeon, maybe? It's something she would do. Next to the frames, a small window and some shelves sat. The shelves looked like shards of ice.
On the floor was an open colouring book, a page turned to a human holding a pokéball, on which Eevee had, for some reason, scribbled all over in dark purple crayon. Lying next to the book was a Flareon Cusheon, which tugged at my heart. To the left of the cushion was the bed, and in the bed was Eevee. Directly above the bed, on the ceiling, was an Espeon poster. One of the walls was covered in light pink wallpaper, with ribbon patterns, not dissimilar to Sylveon's ribbons.
Eevee sighed, snapping me out of my trance. I turned my forehead ring off and started to walk out the room. But then Eevee called out to me.
"остаться" she whispered, but I heard it. As far as 5-year-olds go, her Russian was good. I understood that much, so I smiled and decided that yes, I would. I turned on my heel and went to sit on Eevee's bed, next to her face. Her ears were splayed out across her pillow, and her eyes were still shut.
"Are you okay, Eve?" I placed my paw on her pillow.
"...what happened? In the other... the other room?"
"Well, pain happened. Awful pain." Her expression changed to one of fear, so I decided to try and re-word what I had just said, but Eevee interrupted me before I could think of what to say.
"Is everyone okay? You look sad, big-sis Umbreon." She opened her big purple eyes for the first time and looked me up and down, scanning me for any visible injuries. "You have scraped knees, Umbreon."
"Yes... I do..." I noticed, looking down at my legs, to see that my knees were indeed scraped, badly too, and my shins were all bruised, a result of being kicked while playing football.
"It's okay. I get cuts on my knees all the time. Espeon says it's just in my Nature. I don't know what that means." She rubbed her paws together in thought.
"Well, Eevee, Nature is how a person, or pokémon, live. It's like a personality, as it affects your daily life. For example, my nature is Calm, which means I'm not hotheaded, and I tend not to react badly to a situation. Another example is Vaporeon. Her Nature is Adamant, which means she knows what she wants and how to get it. It's a little confusing at first. I'm not sure what your Nature is, ask Espeon or Jolteon or someone."
"Okay...." Eevee looked sad all of a sudden at the mention of Espeon and Jolteon.
"Hey, what's wrong, little one?" Eevee brushed her ears together, debating whether to tell me or not. "Come on, I might be able to help you, kid."
"I just wanna stay close to Daddy."
What? I thought her parents were dead... that's what Jolteon and Flareon told us. Does Espeon know about this? I was so confused. Wait. Eevee hangs around Leafeon a lot, maybe.... no, they act more like siblings. Besides, how would she end up in a tree if Leafeon was her father? Leafeon is a tree. I guess I should ask her...
"Daddy? So, who's your daddy?" I patted her head carefully.
"Daddy has yellow spiky fu-"
"Jolteon is your dad? Okay, this day just keeps getting weirder and weirder."
"Yes, daddy is called Jolteon..."
I pretended to be unfazed, so I decided to move the conversation on. "So, Eevee, what do you wanna be when you grow up?"
"An iPhone." She replied, with a look of confirmation on her face, like she'd thought about this for a long time. I decided to dig deeper.
"Why?"
"Because, daddy takes his iPhone everywhere he goes, but I'm never by his side. Big-sis Vaporeon looks at her iPhone all the time, but she never looks at me. Espeon wakes up in the middle of the night to check on her iPhone, but she doesn't check on me at night to see if I'm okay. Their lives revolve around their iPhones, so maybe if I become an iPhone, they'll take more notice of me."

A/N
Okay yes I know this one was sad as well but I wanted to focus on Eevee a little bit because I've basically ignored her and yes i know I said the chapters will be funnier, and they will. Just give me time. A character just died, okay? I don't know how to make that funny. sorry
