When Stacie and I enter the house, it seems empty. Dust flies into my nose, causing me to sneeze. When I open my eyes, there's a man with slicked-back silver hair and a blood-red suit, partnered with a tie black as night. "Greetings, candidates!~" he exclaims.. The lights flicker on, showing a whole group of people, all practicing different forms of the same thing, like sword fighting this art has multiple forms. Stacie and I sit down together in the beanbag area, as the man with the silver hair comes in. "Hello, new one. I'm Kyle. Pleased to make your acquaintance.~" Stacie stiffens up a bit as he introduces himself, but smiles.
"I'm Paige Yenghai. The pleasure's all mine." I say, trying not to freak out over the leader of this group taking time out of his schedule to talk to me.
"You might be confused on what we're all practicing. Everyone here is training in their own branch of Lemia. Others may call it magic, or 'powers', but the true name, as said in the legend stated in the note, is Lemia." Kyle explains with a smirk. "A-alright...how do I create my own branch of L-Lemia?" I inquire shyly. Kyle chuckles a bit before grabbing my hands in his own, telling me to close my eyes, and instructing me. "Try to open the gemstones in your body, there's one at your feet, your pelvis, your heart, your forehead, and a final one at the top of your head." As I try this, there are a few gasps, and I suddenly feel watched. I don't let it bother me. When I 'open the gemstones', I open my eyes, and see flames dancing in my hands, an open eye above my head, and lightning crackling within the eye. I'm hovering in the air somewhat. As I look around, everyone's eyes are trained on me. Some with a judgmental look, others with purely amazed expressions. I hold out my hand, the eye folds and goes into my palm, becoming a sword. Custom made for me. eople gasp and watch more intently as it turns to metal. Kyle claps, as I stand up, the sword dissipating.
"Seems like you have an elemental type custom tailored for you, a rare event but not impossible Ms. Paige. It's a pleasure to have you on our team. I must ask, where did you learn to speak Latin?" Kyle asks. I look at him like he's insane. "I didn't say a single word, in any language!" Stacie now seems scared to talk to me. I internally groan because of it. That is, before Stacie tackle hugs me.
"Oh my god, you did amazing!" she exclaims, before realizing how awkward the situation is. "S-sorry..." she says, embarrassed, and a little bit disappointed as she lets go. I chuckle and ruffle her hair. "It's fine Stacie, you were in shock." Right as I say that, everybody seems to snap out of it, and rush to talk to me.
When I get to the dorm, I realize everybody's gone.I discard my shirt and pants, nobody will be here to yell at me for it, after all. After a while of me dancing around to music from my bluetooth speaker, Cat walks in, wearing pajamas. "Hey, I've brought food, and clothes, and stuff to do..." Her voice trails off as she sees me half-naked before she throws her pillow at me.
"TELL ME THE NEXT TIME YOU DANCE AROUND IN YOUR UNDERGARMENTS, GOT IT?" She shouts. I chuckle. "Don't lie, you're enjoying the view~" I joke. Cat looks a bit shocked, and looks to the side. "None of your business, Paige..." she states, before throwing a pair of pajamas at me. I walk into the bathroom to change, and when I come out, Cat is on the couch, playing something on her phone.
"So are we going to watch a movie or..." My voice trails off as Cat turns the TV on and forces me to cuddle with her. She's like this every time we have a sleepover, so I just sigh and hug her. "I swear, you're even more like a cat than your name suggests." I tell her, messing with her hair. She ignores me, and just watches the movie.
It's been a few months since the sleepover and Cat still hasn't left...and my roommates haven't come back...I'm honestly getting worried, but I shrug it off as I finish reading the book I found. Over the 5 months I've gotten close to Stacie, we've started to text. I check the time, then mutter a quick "fuck" before running out and grabbing my skateboard, telling Cat where I'm off to. When I leave the dorm room, Stacie is waiting out there."I thought you would want some company walking to group!" she excitedly declares as we start to walk off. I nod and just let her lead the way. I grab her hand so we don't get lost in the flood of people, before we both notice and blush, pulling our hands away and trading embarrassed apologies. When we walk into the house, people flood me with questions and Stacie just walks off, but she seemed to do it out of spite more than anything else. Once everyone is done questioning me, I go over to her and start conversation. "Hey wha-" she cuts me off, snapping angrily, "Why not go back to your fans, hm?!" before turning around. I sit down next to her with a worried look. "What was that about?" Stacie sighs and looks me in the eyes. "Sorry...It's just that everyone I become friends with ends up getting swept away with fame for some reason, while I'm left alone. But I don't want to lose you as well." she explains, tearing up a bit. I hug her and smile, reassuring her, "I will never leave you for stupid fame or fortune."
She smiles at me and hugs me tightly, before I make her face me and close my eyes going in for a kiss. As I lean in, I don't care what's happening around us, or what she will think of me after this, I needed this kiss if it's the last thing I got from her. Our lips connect and there's a small spark as fireworks go off in my heart.
