As we kiss, time seems to stop. My mind starts to wander down memory lane. First stop is 5 years ago, when my mother died. I was talking to her while she was on her death bed, until she silenced me. She handed me a silver pocket watch and smiled at me. "This was an anniversary gift from your father, now I want you to have it darling." she said before closing her eyes and quietly passing away. From that day on, I have made it a duty of mine to keep her memory alive, and so I wear the pocket watch. The next stop is when I was really young. I woke up at around 7 AM and walked out to go to the bathroom, when I heard screaming and fighting. I hid in the bathroom for hours, until someone stormed out. When I worked up the nerve to go back out, mom was crying at the table and dad was nowhere to be seen. He hasn't come back to this day. I keep remembering events that I would rather not speak of, until I snap out of it.

Stacie has pulled away and just hugged me with all 4 of her limbs as she keeps saying, "I love you" over and over again. I giggle and kiss her forehead, "I love you too Stacie, promise." That's when other people start to notice and start to take pictures. Kyle gives them all a disappointed look and walks over to us. "Now that you two have kissed and made up, literally, why don't we start to work on our Lemia, yes?" he asks with a cold tone of voice, implying that he wasn't going to take no for an answer. As we train, I just can't get it to work right, when I try to form a ball of water, fire spits out of my hand, and when I try to make an electric spear, the wind lifts my skirt up. I just can't get a hold of this thing can I? Kyle is patient enough, and Stacie keeps my self esteem up, saying things like, "We all messed up our first times!" or, "You'll get the hang of this soon enough!" I smile at her but sigh.

It's been weeks and I still can't get the hold of my Lemia, everyone has lost interest in me, except for Stacie and Kyle. At least when I try a certain element, it stays in that element, but it doesn't take the desired shape. Kyle smiles and just taps my forehead reminding me, "The legend says of one who is weak but grows strong in due time." I smile but shake my head. "Kyle, I'm not the Legendary one. I'm a simple girl from a simple town in the country, nothing more, nothing less." I state with hope draining from my voice. "Maybe it's not practice that's keeping you from acquiring your abilities? Maybe you just need something to focus your energy." Kyle suggests before pulling out a necklace with a gemstone in it, Sapphire my favorite stone. I smile and put the amulet on, before trying again. This time the electric eye appears and forms into the sword. I smile and jump up and down, but as dust flies by, my sword is cut in half. "Your Lemia is still weak, but you have the ability to focus it, you're growing young one." Kyle says before ending it with "Everyone clean up, meeting's over!" I clean up my book bag and schoolwork, before Stacie takes my hand and we leave the old house.

As I finish cleaning the apartment, I moved in 4 months ago. There's a knock at the door. When I open it, I'm attacked by a young child hugging my legs, my step-father smiles and greets me with, "It's been a while Paige, your brother missed you." I reply with a quick, "Hello Tom, and you too Alex" before hugging my brother and twirling him around. Tom looks at me with a worried look and sighs, "Hey.....half the reason I'm here is because.....I lost my house and your brother and I need a place to stay." he says embarrassed. I smile and move away from the door with a simple comment, "Family is Family Tom. You're welcome here anytime." Tom walks in and smiles, "Nice apartment kid." he states before unpacking Alex and his stuff. Cat walks out of her room, which she claimed as hers 3 months ago. Cat spots Alex and does a childish small scream before tackle hugging him. Cat has always loved it when Alex came to visit. I walk off to go cook dinner.

Once dinner is done, I set places for everyone and call Tom, Alex, and Cat in. They all walk in and thank me for the dinner as we sit around the table talking and eating. I haven't actually sat down at a table for dinner in months, it's odd now sitting and talking with people while I eat. Once everyone is done, I rinse their plates and start to do the dishes, Cat walking over and helping me. We start to talk about school, and that in only 2 months we'll be finished with College. I've been studying to be an English Language Arts teacher, and I plan on applying to the school I grew up in, Mohawk Mountain Middle School. When the dishes are done I get into pajamas and slip into bed, falling asleep quickly.

I wake up with a yawn, and turn off my 50+ alarms, before hopping in the shower, keeping the amulet on as I try to make the water collect above me, before dumping onto me when I rinse the soap off, it's a shaky hold but it's better than usual. When I get out of the shower and dry off, there's a bit of commotion by the door before Cat lets someone in saying something about me. As I continue to dry off, Stacie opens the door before blushing heavily and closing it. before an embarrassed comment makes it way through the door, "Lock the door next time please!" My face flushes red as I clothe myself, and walk out. Stacie and Cat are talking, before Stacie smiles at me saying, "Hey, I wanted to walk you to school today!" I smile and hug her, agreeing that she should. When it's time to leave Stacie takes my hand again and we leave Cat in tow. When we get to the college campus, which is an hours walk. There's an orange hue and the trees clear. Showing a huge fire with flames licking the tips of the witches towers and screams of horror come from all three of us, as my mind goes into overdrive and I autopilot.
