Liam thrashed against Scott and Kira's hands, his eyes flashing from yellow to their normal blue. Snarls and growls left his mouth as he lunged multiple time for the two. I rummaged hurriedly through a pile of miscellaneous objects in the boathouse, letting out a panicked yelp. "Scott, I can't find the chains!"

"Come hold Liam, and Kira can find them!" Scott ordered impatiently, wincing as he struggled to hold Liam down. I ran over, relieving Kira of her position and pushing back on Liam's shoulder. He snapped his sharp teeth at me, aiming for my throat. I swallowed thickly, opting for pulling my head back and grabbing his arms instead, pinning them above his head.

"I got them!" Kira exclaimed from behind us, and I turned as she came rushing. I grabbed one end and Scott grabbed the other.

"Wrap them around him," he said. I nodded, giving Liam's hands to Kira so she could pin them to his sides as I walked around the beam a few times, tightening them until I head Liam wheeze. I loosened them a bit, which gave him the perfect opportunity to tackle Scott to the ground. My eyes widened, and Liam brought up his clawed hand level with his head. As he was about to slash Scott's throat out, Kira grabbed a wooden paddle and hit him in the back of the head. He fell to the side of Scott, unconscious.

All three of us rushed to his side,  and I knelt down by his legs. "Oh my God!" Kira cried. "I didn't kill him, did I?"

"No," Scott said with a shake of his head. "He's out cold."

Kira and I sighed in relief. Scott turned his gaze on me, his eyes hardening. "Why did you loosen to chains?"

"I-" I raised my chin indignantly with a sniff. "I did no such thing!"

"It's supposed to be uncomfortable, Remy, or else it doesn't work!" Scott said. I nodded guiltily. "Let's get him back over there. Kira get his head, Remy get his legs."

I grabbed his legs at the bend of his knees and Kira held him up by his back. We brought him back to the support beam and Scott chained him up, and we all sat down in front of him. Kira studied Liam curiously. "He looks so young."

"He is, he's only 15," Scott said softly.

"What are we gonna do with him?" I questioned, observing the unconscious boy with caution, as if he would wake up and lash out again. He remained peaceful, though, his chest rising and falling calmly with his head resting against the wooden beam.

"We're gonna help him," Scott answered.

Kira's brows furrowed. "What if he doesn't want our help?"

"He will."

We sat in silence for a few minutes, when Scott glanced backwards. Kira's head tilted to the side. "What?"

"I can hear the music from the house." Scott looked at Kira. She smiled gently.

"What are they playing?"

I made a face, getting up and creeping towards the door of the boathouse. "I'll leave you three alone." I cast a meaningful glance at Liam, making  Scott chuckle. Grabbing a lantern from the shelf, I ducked out the door.

I listened to the low hum of another song from inside, and I leaned against a tree a few feet away from the boathouse. It was darker outside, and the lantern's dim light didn't do anything to let me see. The pulsing bass from the lake house mixed in with the gently lulling song from where Scott and Kira were, making me get up and wander farther into the woods (which was surprisingly not that far) until I couldn't hear any music.

I sighed.

Suddenly, the crash of glass made me look towards the boathouse, and through the trees I could see a figure running my way. I subconsciously raised my leg, reaching into my boot for the small dagger that was resting against my ankle. The figure, which I had correctly guessed to be Liam, was a few feet away and getting closer. I stupidly made the mistake of looking around for Scott.
