Caught by Love

Prologue

At the beginning, a time when humans were just beginning to find their feet, demons and angels had already existed for millions of years. Angels inhabited a dimension in the sky, a place that the humans later came to call heaven, and the demons lived on earth, side by side with the newly emerging humans. This went on for thousands of years the humans slowly becoming more and more advanced. The demons, feeling threatened by the once primitive race's newfound power and knowledge, began to feed off the humans instead of animals as they had for so many eons before. Watching from above the angels saw this and for a while did nothing, until one day the humans, having formed various religions by this time, called out for help. The king of angels, Charkell, decided to grant their wish. Five thousand years earlier the angels had managed to put their queen into a magically induced sleep so she couldn't cause trouble. The new interspecies fighting and bloodshed threatened to wake her once again. To prevent the demons from waking the king's sister, Diva, the fallen angel that rules hell, the angels banished the demons to their own dimension within the center of the earth. However, this conflict gave rise to a new race. The Demon Hunters were humans who had demon DNA spliced into their bodies at birth giving them the ability to wield magic and to keep the human race safe from demons. The human's newfound hatred for demons was almost universal however, some humans didn't mind them and there were even some Demon Hunters that associated with the demon kind. These people were frowned upon and usually ended up dead, killed by either the demons that they had come to trust or by other humans that were afraid of coming in contact with the hated race. The demons remained underground for the next three hundred years. Unknown to the humans and angels however, the act of sealing them away had awakened queen Diva, but with her magic still sleeping within her, and her body that of a 15-year old girl. She was found by the Stormrage's, one of the most powerful demon hunter families. Realizing what she was and thinking that they could keep her safe they took her into their home.
