Caught by Love

Chapter 3

Krelldan twirls around trying to see the wings on his back better. "You actually gave me wings! This is so cool Diva!" Accidentally flapping his wings, he shoots into the air. "Ah! What's going on? How did I do that?"
     I laugh and lightly flap mine to reach the same height as him. "You moved them dear. That's what makes you fly, just like a bird." I turn my back to him and show him how I move mine back and forth to hover. "You're a natural. You don't even need my help. Want to fly with me now?"
     He smiles, flaps his wings and shoots into the sky. "Keep up darling!" I race after him catching up and passing him careful not to lose him. I turn around and fly facing him, taunting him to come get me.
     "Come on Krell, can't you go any faster?" The smile on his face warms my heart and I feel the urge to kiss him again. I shake it off, but I hold out my hand to stop. Instead of stopping he dives under me, grabs me and folds in his wings wrapping them around us as we freefall to the ground.
     "Oh please Diva. Give it a rest already. I know I can't beat you and you know it too." At the last second he spreads his wings and lands us softly on the ground. I look around cautiously. We are standing on the edge of a waterfall, the water roaring behind us, the mist causing rainbows in the sun. I turn back and stare into his eyes.
     "What's going on here? Why did you land? Why..." he cuts off my question by kissing me again. I can feel the desperation and love flowing from his body. Giving in to my own desire I kiss back my entire body melting into his. This goes on for what seems like forever, time fades away, all the sounds around us fade. We break the kiss slowly and stare into each other's eyes for a moment. I smile and run my hand over his face. "Why did you do that?" I ask playfully.
     "Because I love you Diva. I don't care if it is against the law, I love you." He pulls me close and wraps his arms around me.
     I hug him back, the feeling of being close to him somehow comforting. "I love you too Krelldan." Feeling that it's the best thing to do, I use my magic to create two small bands of light in the air. Pulling away from him, I smile and open my wings to their full extent. "Krelldan Stormrage, by the authority of the Queen of Hell I ask you, will you see it fit to break your laws and become my king?"
     He staggers back in shock then composes himself and spreads his wings as well. "Yes Queen Diva." He kneels and I push the ring of light onto his ring finger then slip the other onto mine.
     "Then seal the contract and the bond will be complete." I hold out my hand smiling. He takes it and gently kisses me. The rings grow blinding for a moment then burn themselves into our skin sealing the promise.
     He breaks away and stares as my face in wonder. "Did you really just do that? Did I really just do that?" 
     I smile gently and kiss his cheek holding him close. "Yes, we did just do that." I laugh playfully breaking the air of shock. "Now we have to tell your parents."
     "Oops. Didn't think that far ahead. I also have to explain the wings and everything too don't I?" he rubs his head and smiles innocently.
     "I'll explain the wings and the flying, but yes, the engagement is your job." I giggle and kiss him playfully spreading my wings. He does the same and we fly home, hand in hand, smiling the entire way.
