[Lyric Variation/Title from 'If You Can't Hang' by Sleeping With Sirens]
[A/N] Hello! Just a quick note out here, simply saying I'm sorry about posting being kid of spread out. I've been trying to really pace out my writing instead of just writing a whole chapter in one go, and I've also had limited computer access. But I had enough to write and edit this chapter, so I decided to skip sleeping for a little bit longer and finish editing for you guys! Anyway, thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy! Xx - CC
I opened my eyes sleepily, the skylight in the bus shining through my bunk blinds. Remembering where I was, I rolled onto my back and stared up at the ceiling, only two feet above my body.
The rest of the guys' day off was full and interesting, yet at the same time uneventful. It was a travel day, meaning that for 15 straight hours we were simply driving, so the guys got a day off of performing. All we did was watch American cult classics like Back to the Future, The Breakfast Club, and Ferris Bueller. The guys seemed some-what interested in the the movies; Chris was on his phone with his girlfriend (whom wasn't clingy) most of the time, and Max fell asleep after the iconic dance scene in the Breakfast Club. Their attention - or lack thereof - caused us to go off track at times and have meaningless conversations, cracking jokes and eating snacks. As the day wore on though, it became clearer and clearer that Dan, Max, Matt, and Chris, were hiding something from me. I didn't bother with it after the third time asking though; they would always seem to find another subject to become interested in. The only other person I could have asked that could have had a clue would have been Josh, but that option was of course put out by default. The way the other guys had made it sound, he was right in the middle of of what they were of-so-terribly hiding. Plus, I didn't need an explanation on the second part of why I couldn't -- and /wouldn't/ -- ask him. When Ren and Bill were fighting Chuck and his gang at the end of Footloose, he came into the lounge with a tense look on his face. I could feel Dan tense up for a second as he sat down on the far right of the couch, next to Chris. Although my mind was running through millions of confused questions, I forced my eyes back to the television. It was fine after that for half of BttF... Well, until I felt a gaze set on me, and caught Josh shooting momentary glances at me. Some looks were filled with stone coldness, but other with slight confusion. I bore my eyes into the DeLorean, trying not to remember the time when he and I, just teens, would look at each other from what felt like opposite ends of the world and still know what the other was thinking. It hard, feeling nostalgic for something that was right in front of me.
It's been about a week since that day, and those hard glances from him had not been letting up. Josh and I hadn't even talked, him always seeming to be busy with his phone or just stubbornly glaring at me. I mean, it was my original goal to make him hate me, but it was starting to get tiring. I didn't honestly think that a simple insult to his girlfriend would set him off so much. How long was he going to keep on doing this?
I laid in bed for a while more, going over the events of that day and sighing. I pushed back my bunk blinds, smirking to myself as I looked down to the floor, now far away from me. That night I discovered that, with others, it was possible to get up into my bunk. With much help from the guys, I could get into my bed by stepping on a bent knee and jumping up with light boosts. I thought that was the ideal way, until Dan scooped me up and hoisted me up bridal-style, with comments from Max about 'perks of being a ginger midget'. Despite all my protests they all refused to help me into my bunk any other way from that... Well, almost all them -- Josh getting a glass of water, and wasn't there.
Now, I rolled out of my bed, having some difficulty getting down without landing on my side, as all the others had woken up. I finally managed to get down, though, and started to walk towards the lounge. Just as I was about to pull the curtain back, I heard voices. Narrowing my eyes, I stepped back a bit, letting go of the curtain.
