What Peace Brings

"What is peace?" you ask,

Well, maybe it's the tranquillity of completing our purpose,

Or the calm during meditation and prayers,

Or being in the embrace of a loved one,

Or the nothingness of death itself.

Or perhaps it holds a different meaning for every individual;

A distinct reality for every soul.

But maybe it's nothing;

Maybe peace is but an illusion.

Maybe it's pleasure in disguise;

Or some other emotion we like.

For tell me- how can we distinguish feelings?

Is there a definition? A guide?

Though for me, peace lies in solitude;

I work alone on misty mornings,

Or in the noiseless nights.

With only my thoughts to keep me company,

I write in the lamp's light.

So, where does your peace lie? With family, friends? Someone else? Or is it materialistic? Maybe illusionary?

As I said in the poem, there's no 'definition' for peace, but think about it: When is your mind most content?
