Maya POV

I quickly run into our bedroom and grab the large duffle bag that is packed with clothes, chargers, and a few books and quickly run back into the living room where Riley is sitting on the couch taking deep breaths. "Okay, I have the bag, what am I forgetting?" I say frantically and Riley laughs and shakes her head and then winces. "I dunno. Maybe the other bag."

My eyes widen and I run into our bedroom to grab the much smaller backpack that is in our chair and then come back to the living room. I put the backpack on my back, grab the duffle bag and put it across my shoulder before helping Riley stand up.

"It's really happening, isn't it?" I ask, a smile on my lips and she nods. "It is." She says softly and gently kisses me before wincing again. "Can we go now?" She asks, her voice a little higher than normal and I nod quickly. I check my phone and see that the Uber just arrived. "Let's go baby." I say softly and smile as I help her out of the living room, and I close and lock the door before leading her to the elevator which will take us into the lobby.

Once we reach the lobby, we see the Uber out front and we make our way to it. The driver, a young man who looks about 25 gets out and offers to take the bags from me so I can better help Riley. "Thank you so much." I say, and give him a smile.

"Of course. Congratulations." He says and before long, we are driving down the streets of New York to the nearest hospital.

I sit in the chair beside the bed in Riley's hospital room, holding her hand as she gushes over how excited she is in between wincing or groaning, and I can't help the small grin that forms on my lips.

She stops talking when she sees me, and smiles slightly. "What?"

I shake my head and chuckle. "This just doesn't seem real." I say softly. "Soon, it won't just be us anymore." I then bring her hand to my lips, and kiss it gently, never looking away from her chocolate brown eyes. She bites on her lower lip before smiling. "It seems wild, doesn't it?" She whispers. I just nod in response, and for a moment, it seems like we forget why she's groaning every couple of minutes. And then she groans, loudly, and squeezes my hand tightly, causing my eyes to widen.

I look at the monitor beside of her and I bite my lip as a nurse comes in the room to check on her.

"Hey there, mama. How are you doing?" She asks with a smile. I quickly remember her name and smile as Sarah brings Riley some ice chips. "I'm doing-" Riley gasps and then groans and squeezes her eyes shut. "I was going to say good but now I'm not so sure." I chuckle at her response, and she gives my hand a squeeze. I kiss her knuckles again, and I can see Sarah is smiling as she checks the monitors.

"You're just about two minutes apart now. Let's check you out, and then I'll go get the doctor." Riley nods and as Sarah checks her, I take this time to grab my phone and check my messages.

Farkle: How's everything going? Smackle and I are in the waiting room with Lucas and Zay.

Maya: Everything is good. I'll let you know when it's about to happen.

"I'm going to go get the doctor. You're almost ready, Riley." Sarah says and smiles at the brunette on the bed. I snap my attention from my phone to Sarah and smile brightly. "Wait, it's happening?" She laughs and nods. "It's happening."

I move the seat closer to the bed and then put my lips on Riley's. "It's really happening, Peaches." She says softly, and smiles brightly. I nod and smile. "It's really happening."

I look back down at my phone as I text Farkle back.

Maya: It's happening.

I set my phone down and take Riley's hand in both of mine right as she grits her teeth and groans. "You've got this, Baby." I say softly and give her an encouraging smile.

"Just one more! You got this!" The doctor says and Riley nods slightly as she tries to take deep breaths. My hand is aching from how hard she has a hold of it, but I don't care. "Come on, Riles. You can do it." I say softly and smile at her. She all but screams as she gives one more push, and then I hear it. The soft crying. And I feel like I'm going to start crying too.

I turn to Riley, who has her head leaned back against the pillow, with her eyes closed. Her face and neck is covered in a thin layer of sweat, and her breathing is very heavy.

"It's a girl." Both of us shoot our eyes to the doctor and a smile forms on my lips. "Really?" Riley asks softly, her voice just barely above a whisper. Sarah, who is standing behind the doctor, nods and smiles. "Do you want to cut the cord?" The doctor asks, directing her attention to me. I just nod and get up from my seat and make my way over to them.

She gives me the scissors to use, and tells me what to do, and I do it. I turn my head and see the small baby in Sarah's arms, who is now cleaning her. I'm stunned. She's beautiful. And looks just like the brunette on the bed. "Riley..." I turn and look at her, and smile. "She's gorgeous."

I make my way back to my seat, and then gently press my lips to Riley's. She smiles weakly against my lips and kisses me back with what energy she has. After a few minutes, Sarah walks over to the bed, holding the baby in her arms, who now is wrapped in a pink blanket with a pink toboggan on.

"Are you ready to hold her?" She asks warmly, and Riley nods as she sits up into a better position. Sarah gently places her into Riley's arms and tells her how to hold her properly, but Riley immediately knows what to do. She smiles brightly as she stares at the peaceful face in her arms, and I can't help the tears that form in my eyes at the site of the two.

"Maya." Riley says softly, never breaking her gaze from the child in her arms.

"Yeah?"

I watch as a tear rolls down her cheek, and she looks up at me. "We have a daughter." She whispers.

"We do." I say softly and move so I'm sitting beside of her in the bed, and immediately Riley leans into me as I stare at our daughter in her arms.

"Do you guys have a name that you are considering?" Sarah asks warmly, and Riley and I both nod at the same time.

"May." We answer together at the same time.
