“A miracle starts whenever you dream.” – Kelly S.
She picked up her butterfly-shaped pink bag from her bed and arranged the books inside; she cleared her bed, Brianna’s bed, and their reading table before leaving the room with her bag. Brianna had already gone to the dinning table and was waiting for her sisters to join her. She strapped one hand of her pink bag on her right shoulder and left for Samantha’s room to call her out first for breakfast, before entering Ciara’s room to call her out also. Brianna was the last among them so she slept with Olivia in a room, and she was ready and was seated in the dinning.
They all headed for the dinning room and dropped their bags on the sofa. They settled down on their chairs, prayed and ate their breakfast; muffins and orangeade juice. They finished eating on time and entered their dad’s Porsche Car era. They hugged their mum goodbye and their dad drove them to school before going to work.
They got to the school compound before the school bell was rung. As Olivia entered the school compound, Lorna, her best friend ran to meet her. They walked to their class with Brianna, but Ciara and Samantha went to their classes. After dropping her bag in her class, Lorna followed Olivia to drop Brianna in her class. They got to the crèche and left her under the care of Miss Sharon.OLIVIA FLANDER WAS the first child of her parents, although she always wished she had a twin sister. She was 9 years old, Samantha was 7 years old, Ciara was 5, and Brianna was 4. Olivia was a shy but carefree little girl who grew up in a conducive environment with her mum, dad and sisters. She was always interested in helping around the house, neighborhood, on the streets and even at school. She had a pair of brown dazzling eyes with straight long brown hair that fell at her back. Her skin matched with the color of her hair and eyes. She had a beautiful set of dimples that whenever she smiled, it became so enchanting. She was such a stunning beauty and Brianna was her carbon copy, they both took their beauty from their dad.
The school has closed for the day and Olivia and Lorna went to carry Brianna. They also went to call Samantha and Ciara before going home. Lorna’s house was just three houses away from Olivia’s house and so they walked from school which was just six houses away from Lorna’s house.
“So, Ollie, are you visiting me today or am I the one who’s going to visit you?” Lorna asked Olivia as they were walking.
“I think I’m the one who’s going to visit today.”
“You’re so sweet, Ollie.”
“Thanks,” she replied and Brianna started tugging at Lorna’s skirt.
“Okay Brinnie, you are also sweet and lovely,” Lorna told her, and they all started laughing.
They soon got to Lorna’s house and they waved her goodbye. They also got to their house, ate their lunch, and did their assignment. They took a short nap and took their shower after the nap. Olivia finished taking her shower and went to meet her mum in the sitting room. She sat close to her and called, “Mum?”
“Is there any problem?”
“There isn’t, mum.”
“Then what is the matter, you look bored.”
“Can I pay a visit to Lorna?”
“Have you done your assignments?”
“Yes, mum. I did them after lunch.”
“Okay, you’re free to go, but remember… ”
“… to come back before seven, yes mum, I know,” she finished the sentence for her mum. She got up and wanted to go and she came back again.
“What is it this time, Ollie?” her mother asked her.
“Mum, can I go with Brinnie?”
“Okay.”
Olivia jumped for joy and hugged her heavy mother with a ‘thank you, mum’ and ran upstairs. She entered the room with a start and startled Brianna.
“Mum says we’re goin’,” she announced to Brianna.
“Yeah,” Brianna jumped from her bed and opened her wardrobe.
The room was big enough to contain the both of them. On the right side of the room was Olivia’s bed and on the left side was Brianna’s bed. In between the two beds was a big dressing table with a big mirror. It had a chair and a stool beside it. There was a small reading table and chair close to Olivia’s bed, between the mirror and her bed and there was another one for Brianna in between her bed and the mirror.
Olivia brought out a lilac pink tube dress with detachable pink ruffled flounce for Brianna. She wore them on Brianna and packed her hair. She went to her wardrobe and brought out a denim miniskirt with wide pink lace ruffle and silver studs; white cotton knit T-shirt with rolled-cap sleeves. She wore them and looked at the mirror.
“Your dress is beautiful, Ollie,” Brianna commented.
“Thanks Brinnie, yours isn’t bad at all.”
Olivia wore pink fancy boots and combed her long hair down. She gave Brianna pink sandals to put on and they were ready. Once again, Olivia wished she was a twin. She dressed Brinnie’s golliwog in a white tricot halter dress with a stand-up collar and silver metallic lace ruffle at the waist. She also wore it a white shoe and gave it to Brinnie.
She arranged the room and went to tell Samantha and Ciara goodbye before going to Lorna’s house.
