“Could I be the one you’re seeking? Will I be the one you’ll choose?”– Kelly S.

This was the third day since Ro had known her twin sister. They had gotten a little bit close but still somehow awkward when alone. They only talked more when they were around people. Ollie had called her dad and sisters who had promised to come today to see Ro and her family.
It was not until afternoon though, that all of them came to Ollie’s house. Sam was also through with her studies and she was now into Fashion and Designing. Ciara was still at school studying Medicine and Surgery but she still wrote books, and Brinnie was just entering college. She was till serious about her music talent and had already released an album titled ‘His love and grace’. She released it months after taking her baccalaureate. Ollie’s dad was still looking the same and Ollie was grateful that he didn’t look older. Brinnie had sure been doing a good job of taking care of him.
Ollie ushered them in and they took their shower and rested. Ollie was staying with Lorna who was out with Sid, preparing for their wedding. Ollie had had to persuade them to go on with their wedding plans. She didn’t want her matters with Ro to disturb them. However, it was Kyle who had been difficult to persuade. He insisted he could not just leave her to handle it both psychologically and emotionally. Even when she had told him her family would be coming, he said he couldn’t still leave.
The house she was staying with Lorna had only five bedrooms, including the Master bedroom. So, Brinnie was sharing Ollie’s room with her.
That afternoon, they were all resting, except Ollie who was preparing food for them. She was in the kitchen when her phone rang. She quickly wiped her wet hands on one of the hand towels and picked it up.
“Hello?” she said into the receiver.
“Ollie, how are you?” Kyle asked.
“I’m fine, Kyle.”
“Have your family arrived?”
“Yes. They arrived not long ago, but they’re resting now.”
“I hope there’s no problem?”
“No.”
“Remember if you don’t have enough rooms, mine’s available,” he said.
“Don’t worry; everything’s okay here. Besides, you’ve done enough for me already. Everybody’s comfortable. Thanks a lot, Kyle.”
“Oh, it’s nothing. I’ll just be here if you need my help,” he said and Ollie smiled. “What were you doing?”
“I was just preparing something my family could eat.”
“I hope you’re still preparing for me, because I’ll be coming over.”
“You’re coming?” she asked.
“Yes. Any problem?”
“Um… no.”
“If there is, I wouldn’t come.”
“I was just wondering if you wouldn’t have work to do at the hospital.”
“No, I took a break.”
“Why?”
“I needed one.”
“What did you tell them?”
“I told them I had some family issues to take care of.”
“You lied?”
“At least, it was for good reason,” he said and Ollie kept quiet, not knowing what else to say. “Ollie, are you still there?”
“Yes,” she said and took a deep breath.
“Okay, I’ll be going now. I need to arrange some few things.”
“Okay.”
“Bye.”
“Kyle?”
“Yes.”
“Thanks a lot.”
“You’re welcome. And I was joking about the food. Eat comfortably,” he replied and hung up.
Ollie sighed and dropped the phone on the table. Kyle was fast becoming a good friend, and she didn’t know if to trust him. Well, she had trusted Sid and he was his best friend, but yet, trusting Kyle was hard and she didn’t know why.
She went back to the kitchen, finished cooking, and went to the sitting room. Few minutes later, Brinnie entered the sitting room, barefooted with her hair tousled.
“Brinnie, you’re up,” Ollie said as she saw her.
“Yeah,” Brinnie replied. “Is there anything to eat around here? I’m starving.”
Ollie chuckled and replied, “Go to the kitchen and serve your food.”
“Thank you,” she said and went into the kitchen.
Then, Robert entered the sitting room, followed by Sam and then, Ciara.
“Did all of you plan it? Why are you all waking up at the same time?” Ollie asked.
“An alarm woke me up,” Ciara said.
“Me, too,” Sam said.
“The same for me,” Robert said.
“Ditto,” Brinnie also said with her mouthful.
Then, everyone turned to Ollie.
“Hey, I didn’t know they were there. You know, I wanted you all to rest, so if I’d known I’d have put ‘em off,” she said, slightly grinning. “Sorry.”
“It’s okay,” they all replied and Ollie smiled. She’d really missed her family.
“Ollie, can I collect my food?” Ciara asked.
“Yeah,” Ollie replied, getting up too to bring Robert’s food. She had earlier served it out, so she put it on the table while Sam and Ciara went to take their food. “Dad, come and eat.”
“Thanks, Ollie,” Robert replied, in his husky sleepy voice. He got up and moved to the table.
All of them were seated and they started eating, including Ollie. Just then, Lorna arrived with Sid.
“Whoa! Look who’s here,” Lorna said as she saw all of them.
“Lorenina!” Brinnie replied and got up to hug her. Then, she returned to her food.
“Welcome, Lorna,” Sam and Ciara said.
“Daddy, good afternoon,” she greeted Robert who smiled.
“Welcome,” he replied.
“Do you all remember Sid? The one who normally came with Kay to visit me when I was in seventh grade,” Ollie asked and everyone nodded. “That’s him there with Lorna,” she added, smiling.
“He’s my fiancé,” Lorna said.
“Wow!” they all exclaimed and smiled at Sid.
“You’re welcome, Sid. I never knew you could have more muscles than me,” Robert teased, flexing his muscles and everyone laughed.
When the laughter died down, Lorna said, “We’ll just be outside in the lawn. Enjoy your food.”
Lorna and Sid went outside while the rest of them continued eating.
