“. . . wishes . . . that come true.” “Magic happens when you believe.” – Kelly S.Ollie and Lorna had graduated from high school and went to college to study Medicine. Ollie was studying Paediatrics, while Lorna was studying Nursing. They were both in different colleges; Ollie was at Dallas while Lorna was at Houston. They came for holidays and saw each other. About nine years later, they both graduated with Master’s degree.
One evening, Lorna and Ollie decided they would celebrate their success. They had had a party at home and now decided to celebrate on their own. They were going for an evening party.
Ollie and Lorna had grown into beautiful ladies. Ollie had an hourglass figure while Lorna had a slim, shapely body. Ollie was dressed in an elegant LBD with a touch of gold at the neckline. She had a brown jacket on, wore a Trisori’s Capri ring in rose quartz, a thin gold bracelet, gold labyrinth stud earrings and an Aldo-heeled black pumps. She left her shiny brown hair to fall gracefully at her back. Lorna also wore an LBD, a Kate Moss cocktail ring, a posy bangle stack; hanging red chain chandelier earrings and a pair of red Christian Louboutine beaute strass heeled shoes. Lorna packed her blonde hair and took a fuchsia satin pleated clutch with signature gold-toned clasp.
They arrived at the party which was at L.A. The room was already filled with people. Different colors of lights glowed in the dark room and people were chatting. As they entered, the noise lowered and most people turned to see them. They smiled at them and then entered, walking to a group of people.
Just before they got there, Sidney Arnold came to them.
“Hey, Lorna,” he called and they looked at him. She smiled and she moved towards him. “What are you doing here?”
“That’s the same question I was about to ask you. This was the party I told you I’ll be coming tonight,” Lorna replied and turned to Ollie who was still looking around. “Hey, Ollie, come over.”
Ollie came over and looked surprised. “Sid! Wow, it’s been a long time,” she said as she took his outstretched hands.
Lorna looked from Ollie to Sid. “Do you know each other?” she asked, surprised.
“Of course. He’s one of the friends I made in my seventh grade,” Ollie replied.
“So, that means there’s no need for introducing anyone then,” Lorna said.
“Yeah. Ollie, Lorna here is my fiancée. I didn’t know she was the Lorna you were always talking about at school,” Sid said.
“Wow! I’m very happy for you guys. But, why didn’t you two come together? Lorna, you should have told me he was coming, so I could’ve come alone,” Ollie said.
“I didn’t know this was the party he was coming to, neither did he know this was the one I was coming to,” Lorna explained. “So, Sid this is my best friend.”
Sid nodded.
“Did you come alone?” Ollie asked.
“No, I came with one of my pals. Remember Kyle Bennett?” he asked Lorna.
“I remember the name, but not the face,” Lorna replied.
“Oh, he’s already coming,” Sid said as his friend, Kyle came to meet them.
“Sid, I’ve been looking all over for you,” he said and glanced at the ladies. “Who are these… ladies you have with you?”
“My fiancée, Lorna Crane and her best friend, Olivia Flander,” he introduced. “Meet my best friend, too, Kyle Bennett.”
They exchanged handshakes and Ollie asked, “Sid, what about Kay? Have you heard from her since?”
“No, I haven’t,” Sid replied.
They talked more but Kyle seemed a little bit quiet.
“What’s wrong, Kyle?” Sid asked. “You’re quiet.”
“Um… nothing,” he replied.
“Are you sure?” Sid asked.
He paused for a while before saying, “Please, excuse us for a minute.”
He took Sid a bit far and asked, “Are you sure that lady’s name is Olivia Flander?”
“Yes. Is there any problem?”
“It’s just that she looks a lot like the girl I dated in high school.”
“Really? What was her name?”
“Rosella Smith,” he replied.
“Whoa!” Sid exclaimed and smiled. “Do you still hear from her now?”
“Um… not that much, but I know where she works and her dad’s house too.”
“This is great, I need to tell Ollie.”
“What is it?”
“Olivia was my classmate in seventh grade and we were close, together with another girl Kaylee. She told us that she’ll plan to look for her twin sister whose name was Rosella, and her supposed father was Josh Smith. You said the girl’s name is Rosella Smith, and that only explains one thing. She might be the twin sister Ollie has been looking for,” Sid said and went back to Ollie and Lorna.
He quickly told her everything and they all promised to start the search the next day. Ollie thanked Kyle and they partied into the night.
