Chapter 14- Wake Up

I stood there, with the phone on my ear, not being able to register what I was just told. My head was spinning and I felt like falling down. My stomach felt sick and I felt like throwing up. This is a joke, this is not true. That was my first thought, but that’s not funny, even Harry is not that stupid and reckless to make this up.

“Excuse me? Ms. Chase? I would believe that you and other friends would like coming over here.” The nurse sounded worried.

“Eh….yes. Um, we….will..will…be there.” I disconnected absent-mindedly.

“Um, Skye? What happened?” Liam asked a hint of worry in his voice.

“Harry….” Tears came to my eyes. Suddenly everyone’s attention was on me.

“Harry what?” Zayn snapped. “What happened?” Louis shouted. “Skye what is it?” Niall demanded. I felt the hot tears “He’s been rushed into the hospital for a severe back injury.” I fell back on to the chair.

Nobody said anything for a minute. We just stood there, trying to figure out what was going on. Is this real? Please tell me I’m dreaming. I was begging God to wake me up from this horrendous nightmare.

“We need to go see him! Get Paul, let’s go.” Liam, being the level-headed one, announced. We all got up and ran single-filed out of Zayn and Harry’s room. “PAUL!!” Louis shouted.

“What is it Louis? Don’t shout in the middle of the hotel.” Paul scolded.

“Harry’s in the hospital, we need to see him Paul.” Niall said, his voice close to breaking. Paul didn’t ask anything but he just nodded.

“Explain to me in the ride. We need to get to him.” He said, trying to comfort us.

During the ride Liam tried to best explain the whole situation, Niall and Louis talked to each other about what could have caused his injury. It may have seemed ignorant of them to someone who didn’t know them, but I knew why they were not focusing on the fact that Harry was hurt; they were afraid they would break. Liam kept rubbing Louis’ back and whispering “He’s fine.” Louis put his head on his shoulder and replied: “I know.” I don’t think they believe what they were saying.
