Chapter 16- A Beautiful Friendship
“In other news, Zayn Malik from the British-Irish boy band has announced his break-up with Chelsea Marsh, his girlfriend of seven months.” The TV announced said, emphasizing on the seven. “In a recent interview, when asked who’s single and who’s not, Zayn Malik confirmed that he is single.” He continued as the video clip of that interview popped up. When Zayn said that he was single, the girls went crazy in the crowd, some screaming “I love you Zayn!” “You’re mine now!” and some girls in shock “What? You two were so cute!” the whole room was in chaos.
I sighed.
“Coming up after the break,” the announced said as the logo of the TV news appeared on the screen “What may have caused this relationship to be over? Or who?”
I snapped my attention back to the TV. Who? Oh no… what if they’re going to talk about me? I am the only girl on the tour who’s single and in Zayn’s age range. I sat up, not wanting to think about it, but the thoughts wouldn’t leave anyway.
Dringgg.
I jumped at the sound of my phone ringing on the table. Running to my phone, I wondered who would be calling me. I didn’t have to wait too long to find out.
Chelsea.
She better be apologizing, I thought. Wow Louis has been rubbing off me, I’m turning sassy.
I picked up the phone, surprising very confidently.
“Hello?”
“Hey….Skye. It’s me Chelsea.”
“Yes I realized, I’m not stupid.” Unlike some people, wait, what is with me? So sassy.
“So um listen….” She paused for a long moment. “I wanted to….” Another pause “talk.”
“About?” Something’s not right here.
“Yesterday. I was….very….” why is she sounding so awkward? “rude…and I shouldn’t….” it sounds like she’s reading off something, I paused for a moment. Reading something…
