//dan//

its been a few days since blue eyes and i have hung out. im guessing hes still with his parents, its the only thing i remember about that night, all the blood and stress. everything else is a blur. its a little past eight now, im lying on the grass at the park.

"hey, curly boy." i hear a familiar voice say and sit beside me.

i sit up and see blue eyes, smiling softly.

"holy shit." i mumble and fall to the grass in a hug, "i- ive missed you."

"ive missed you too, uh. hugs arent a good idea, still sore." he says.

"sorry." i say and release him from the hug.

"what are you doing out here?" he asks and lies down next to me.

"i dont know." i say, "just had to get out and breathe for a bit."

"whats wrong?" he asks, "whats on your mind?"

"i.. i dont know. just.." i sigh, "i wanted to be left alone and away from people."

"why?" he asks.

"i dont know, blue eyes." i say.

"love, talk to me." he says.

"blue eyes, really. i dont know. im just.. confused about everything. i dont know how to explain it." i say, "like.. im genuinely happy but im just conflicted with everything happening and i dont know how to deal with it and its all just so much and im rambling, im sorry."

"wanna go for a walk? that always helps clear my head." he says.

i nod my head and we both stand up. we walk side by side, im looking down. i open my mouth to speak but decide against it. why am i- wait, im not even sad, why. fuck, im tired. should i go home? ugh, fuck. what time is it?

"what time is it?" i ask.

"nine thirty." blue eyes says.

"lets go to the corner store." i say.

"alright." he says.

its cold now i notice. not too cold, just a bit. we reach the store and go inside. im still not speaking, stuck in my head. i go to the back and grab a pack of vodka and a box of cigarettes.

"identity card, sir." the cashier tells me.

shit.

"im not sure if ive got my wallet." i say and feel the pockets of my jeans, "ive only got cash on me."

"wait. are you dan? dan howell?" the cashier asks.

"yes?" i say, i dont know who this is.

"mate, it's been forever." he says.

"jacob?" i ask, "shit, i hardly recognized you."

"forget the i.d. mate, youre alright." he says, "ten bucks."

i hand him the money and look around for blue eyes. hes in the candy isle.

"hey. uh, whats your number?" jacob asks.

"you got any paper?" i ask, he hands me a piece of paper and a pen and i write my number down on it.

"wanna hang out sometime?" he asks.

"uh, yeah. sounds good, mate." i say.

"tomorrow? i get off near nine." he says.

"yeah. alright. well, catch you later, mate." i say and walk out.
