The metal rod fell from my grasp and I yelped in pain.
"Are you serious babe?" I fell to the floor holding my toes.
Sam lifted me gently as possible off the floor and onto the bed
"shit! I'm sorry Alex." he held my face. "I should have been more careful."
I stood up laughing a bit at his dramatic reaction. His pale hand reached over to my own.
" How are we ever going to fix this place?"We Looked each other in the eyes "Are we in over our heads?"
"You aren't having second thoughts about this now because a silly little curtain, are you?"
A small laugh escaped my lips. Sam looked back at me with an eyebrow raised.
"What's so funny Alex?"
"Nothing." I Looked away giggling "It's just that I don't ever want you to change the way you talk."
He smiled down at me giving my hand a squeeze. through the gaps of the halfway fixed curtain sun leaked in and together, we felt the hope it brought knowing this place would hold the beginning of our lives. A place that would be our forever home, a place we could grow together and work doing the things we love most. The Blue Inn motel wasn't perfect but we never wanted that. she was a fixer upper and we were too. With a little work from both sides, we could get this place up and running being a hotspot for hipsters on vacation.
"Wow! You guys are so wholesome! All my relationships turned out really bad, ya got any tips?"
"Who the fuck said that!"
