CARPE DIEM (seize the day)

A hall of fame with a small portrait of self she dreams,

Unimportant men who shall respect her name,

And some tiny spark which shall enlighten her day,

Making her eyes shine with an unmistakable gleam.

Dreariness was what made her prudent,

Hesitations overcoming her assurances imperemediately,

All her dreams had better chances in a reel world,

Aghast, she had sobbed hysterically.

The challenges she had faced, only she could imagine,

Decisions creating upheaval inside her mind,

Sleepless nights and conflicting emotions

were her constant companion,

The door of victory was hidden, which she yet had to find.

She mustered up whatever little fortitude she had,

Carving her way out of the black hole called solitude,

Lighting up her path with the warmth of her own heart,

Glory was what she had to attain with a tinge of attitude.

Stony eyes, she walked towards the battlefield,

Resolute, adamant and as feisty as one could reckon,

Leaving behind her much tormented past,

She shall use perseverance as her ultimate weapon.

Then after all the hardships, jeer and mockery,

She attained her long-awaited victory,

With upturned lips and a sigh of satisfaction,

She whispered, " Finally, I've achieved my dream reality".
