She allows her insecurities to come alive,
As she squirms under her own scrutiny,
Running a hand along her naked body,
As if, searching for imperfections.
Grey eyes stare back at her with distaste,
She hides her scar skillfully with her hair,
Black tears stain her freckled face,
Thin lips smudged with red.
She collapses to the floor,
With a heavy heart, but lightweight,
Her stomach growls, not so subtly,
Ribs prominent like her dark circles.
Lying a few feet away, is a surgery bill,
Which had cost her more than her rent.
Scarred for life, she holds the blade,
Steady on her wrist.
If only she knew! It was all an illusion,
Her eyes called her worthless,
Her mind spoke otherwise,
"You are beautiful" ; had been buried deep within.
~Sanchari
No matter who you are or what class, religion, colour, or nation you belong to, you are beautiful as who you are. Never change that. Each and every one is unique in their own way. Try to accept yourself and love yourself. Remember, you are beautiful and gorgeous. You are the best! Stay happy and healthy! :)
