ESCAPADE

A barbed wire and a crossbow,

Completes my worst nightmares.

The melody of your howls,

As if dictating lullabies.

Your last conundrum still resonates,

Like an antiphon,

"Should we run?"

Me (comprises of)

A faint heart, cowardly fear,

Blue veins and regret.

We run.

Hitting a barbed wire.

My panic-stricken eyes

search yours, for an answer.

And you reply, camouflaging,

The truth with a smile.

I run.

No barbed wires now.

Just few primeval trees.

I run towards the rainforests,

Leaving you behind,

As you whimper a goodbye.
