When you first plant a garden,
Of course you would expect it to grow.
Growing a variety of colors, shapes, sizes.
Whether it be flowers, fruits or vegetables.
It is nothing but a variety of what you desire.
But not every garden will grow,
Some will bear nothing,
No fruit, No flowers
Others will die quick.
When you build a house,
You start with a foundation,
Putting together pieces of a puzzle that one day,
You may just call home.
What you don’t plan for...
Is nature.
Whether a tornado that rips apart those puzzle pieces,
Or a flood that gives damage to everything you've built,
Or a wildfire,
That incinerates everything in its path.
Never will it be immediately planned for,
After all it’s more of an afterthought.
But from every destruction of a home,
To every death of a garden.
New life will emerge...
You plant a new garden,
Now with better knowledge than you had before.
Knowing better which plant needs more water, or more sun.
You build a better home.
Whether by the ocean where you raise your house on stilts.
Or building of a better foundation,
You keep in mind all that you have learned.
For failure is what's needed,
For a new beginning.
