Re: Lava Pit Difficulties

As suspected, the construction of the Lava Pits is proving most challenging. There are frequent explosions as we attempt to burrow down to the molten earth below. Many have been caught in the geysers of lava that burst forth the underground lava pockets. The vast number of lost workers means we will struggle to complete numerous death traps and hidden passages on schedule.

Morale amongst our human laborers is critically low. The Zombie Priests have surrounded the worksite with their expanding zombie horde and refuse to allow the human workers to leave the premises. They have basically taken control of my worksite. They force the human workers to stay at their tasks for incredible stretches of time. Many of the human artisans have collapsed from exhaustion and stress from being pushed so relentlessly.

I have tried to explain to the Zombie Priests that living workers need periodic rest in order to work at their highest capacity. My pleas and explanations make no difference to their attitude and they continue their efforts to subvert my authority. They do not even bother to hide their contempt for me personally.

I find their attitudes completely unacceptable and have explained this to them. They were also made aware that I was going to report their actions to you. They refuse to enter any sort of meaningful dialogue with me and simply do as they please. I have the rising suspicion they are simply humoring me and are working solely under their own agenda.

With the Lava-related fatalities, I have been forced to again send agents to recruit more artisans and masons so we may finish the construction on schedule. Thankfully, the Zombie Priests understood this and did not block their exit from our camp. Unfortunately, word that our previous employees have ended up as mindless zombies or incinerated in lava has discouraged recruitment in all the nearby port cities and sea-landings. This, in addition to the rampant belief that entering into a contract with a Lich King is akin to signing your own death certificate, will make further recruitment slow and costly. The fervor with which these uneducated oafs hold this surprisingly wide-spread rumor to be truth is unshakeable, and, if I may add, somewhat personally unsettling.

As construction draws toward a close, I feel it necessary to inform you that financing for this project is now drawn solely from reserve funds of Dynamic Dungeon Designs, LCC itself. My accountants are keeping close tabs on all expenses incurred by our firm above and beyond the money granted in our initial agreement. We expect to be recompensed completely upon your inspection of the unfinished Unholy Temple Complex.

Fear for our eternal souls and your assurances that we will be compensated and rewarded for extending our financial liability are the only reasons DDD, LLC is breaking with company policy and funding the final stages of construction.

Of course, full ownership of the Unholy Temple complex will not be transferred to his Unholiness until all accounts are settled.
