How am I supposed to keep writing if I have no exciting ideas for the next upcoming chapters. Enjoy this chapter. Tomorrow I wont be able to write (8/16/14) Because I have a concert to go to. But hopefully I have ideas by then.
~Years after College~
“Dammit, Adam where is my lab coat. I am going to be late.” He chuckled at me, “You are never late to work. They can live.” I scoffed, “Adam, I work in botany like I always wanted. They need me.” I giggled as he kissed my cheek. “OK fine, but when you come back, I am taking you out to dinner. It is our anniversary.” I smiled and nodded. “OK, hun.” I kissed him as my plants began to help him do stuff. H was ok with my powers when I told him. He freaked out a little but he understood. He was friendly with my parents now. He helps them out sometimes when he is off work while I am working. He managed to help them make a store for the stained windows. I was glad. My father taught him well. My mother well she still ends up giving him a pep talk about my past life as a little kid. How she knew along that I had the power to control plants.
I rushed inside the lab, seeing everyone working. I put my hair up and greeted everyone. A plants came to me and began helping me do some tests that I had been working on. There has been a case going on about a new plant species in a nearby forest. I gazed at the small plant that is growing in a small pot. I had taken care of this for over a month now. Everyone thought I was crazy for it.
I finished my shift and started to head home. I saw Adam doing stuff to his truck. I shook my head as I honked at him. He jumped, falling inside a bucket of water. I came out laughing at him. “Wow. Thanks for scaring me, love.” I giggled as I helped him up. “Well, go get ready. I made a reservation already in an hour.” I nodded as I went up to our apartment. I started getting ready, pulling out a dress to wear. I went into the shower, washing my hair. It started turning pure white. It grew longer, past my butt. I came out and dried up and dressed. I came out, fixing my hair as I saw Adam fix his tie. I put my shoes on silently and got kissed my surprise by Adam. I giggled as I saw Adam all finished. “You ready?” I nodded, taking his hand in mine.
We sat down at our seats. The waiter kept smiling at us weirdly. I shook it off as wine came to our table. The waiter poured a glass for us, as we ordered. Adam kept on staring at me, “Is there something in my face?” He shook his head, “No honey. There isn’t. You look wonderful.” I smiled, “It has been over 5 years since we have been together. My parents love you. Your father does with me.” He nodded in agreement, “Yeah. I wish my mother had got to know you better. But she is in a better place now.” I nodded, looking down at my hands. The waiter came with our bread and food. It smelled so good. I licked my lips as I began eating. Adam kept looking at me weirdly again. I took a bite of my bread, slowly eating it. He stopped eating after a bit. “Star. Can I ask you something?” I nodded, taking my last bite. “Sure, what is it?” He stood up, coming towards me. I swallowed my food and sipped my wine. He went on one knee, staring at me while he grabbed something from his pocket. Oh no. Shit. Don’t do it. He is going to do. I saw the dark blue box. He sighed, “Starlet, it has been an amazing 5 years with you. We did so much together and we have been through thick and thin. I feel like I have known you my whole life. I am here tonight, wanting to ask you an important question. Starlet Howell, Will you be my wife? Be the Mrs. Richards?” I gasped, feeling my tears stream down. I saw the box open up. Seeing a small green diamond ring. I gasped as I nodded, “Yes Adam I will be your wife. I will be your Mrs. Richards.” He put on the ring, which fit perfectly and kissed him. Everyone clapped as they saw. We finished eating and we left home. He held my hand the whole way home. I smiled to myself, looking out the window. I took out my cell and took a picture of the ring and sent it to my parents saying ‘Guess who got engaged?’ I giggled as we went inside, hearing the phone go off. I picked it up, “Hello?”
“Oh my goodness! I cannot believe my little girl is getting married. I am so happy. Here is your father.”
“Dad?”
“I am proud of you honey. I give you both my blessings. He better take care of you.”
“Thanks dad. Love you guys! Bye!”
I hung up the phone and walked to the room, seeing Adam already in his boxers and shirt. I got my tank top and shorts out and got dressed in it. I feel comfortable. I brushed my hair out, and placed it in a bun. I went up to Adam and hugged him from behind. We went to watch food network, with two bags of lays chips. I stared at him, “This is difficult, we are watching food network. We are hungry from this channel.” I huffed, taking another bite. He got up, taking the bags and grabbed a blanket, “Pick a movie while I get the blankets.” I grinned, going on Netflix with his PS3. I picked, ‘The Avengers.’ He came back as the title popped up. He huffed, “Again. We seen this like, a dozen times. Can we watch something else?” I shook my head, “Nope, unless you want to watch Frozen again?” He sat down, “Nope. Avengers are good.” I smiled, kissing his cheek as I put the blanket around us. I laid my head on his shoulder and he wrapped his arm around me. We began cuddling while watching the movie. I then realized, we have to plan the wedding. Crap.
