Baby Come Home...

CHAPTER 17:

Dan's POV:

They came in and said to turn my life support machine off, I don't know why as I am still alive and I need to wake up. I feel like moving but I couldn't and it was making it even possible to do so.. The time was running out and it was like I had to get my body to wake it self up..

Doctor hews:"once we turn it off the machines he will breath on his own for a few hours then after that he will be gone"

Isla:"I can't be in here to watch my only son go I cant"

Kate:"I'm so sorry, it's all my fault"

Fran:"it's ok Kate we don't blame you ok, please stop and think about the baby you are carrying"

All of my family was huddle around and they were crying I was trying my hardest to wake up but nothing seemed to work and it made me fight even harder. I wasn't going to give up and I knew that I cant for the sake of Kate..

Everyone was saying their goodbyes to me and I couldn't think why they would I wasn't head I knew it my body wasn't functioning and I was still here.. I had to try and let them know.

Kate grabbed my hand and put to her face she was crying and say things that made me fight even harder..

"Dan, please don't leave me"

"I love you Dan"

"what am I going to do without you"

"please wake up"

Her tears were heavy now and she was trying hard not to panic but she couldn't stop, then woody came in and started talking to Kate making her calm down..

"hey, hey its ok Kate think of the baby"

"i-i-i j-just need d-d-Dan"

"I know come on and we will get some food"

Woody took her away and I could feel my fingers move and it's not me moving them in my mind, I then tried to do it again..

After Kate came back from getting something with woody, she sat down and grabbed my hand and placed it on her stomach, "the baby gets really active after I eat"

I felt the baby move it was weird and wonderful at the same time, she had her hand on mine and then I moved my finger to say I was responding and then she got a bit scared and thought it was her imagination or the baby kicking my hand away so she kept talking to me, "I wonder what it will be?"

"he or she will have your eyes and profile"

Then I moved my index finger to say I was listening. Kate noticed it and she got excited, and held my hand in hers this time. Then I felt my eyes open and I could see her even though it was blurry at first but I could see her and it wasn't a dream..

Kate's POV:

After I was telling Dan about the baby moving and thinking his hand moving was all in my head, I called for a nurse to come in and check on him to make sure I wasn't dreaming..

I had to get the guys and his parents come in here and see him. I was shocked that he was awake..

"Kyle, Will, Woody???"

"someone quick come in here"

I pressed the nurses button and the doctor came in, I was taken out of the room and I saw everyone. "he's awake"

They all looked at me like I was a alien and that it wasn't true. But it was..

The doctor came out..

Doctor hewes:"Mr Smith has woken up and he is going to need some physical therapy but he should make a full recovery.."

Isla:"can we go and see him?"

Doctor hewes:"yes you can and just try and make sure you don't over do it but he's ok now"

We headed to his room and he was on his side and he looked like he was happy to be awake. I smiled and cried at the same time. He ushered me to come over and I did. I sat down next to him and he placed both of his hands on my stomach and I just held his hands while he laid there crying...

Dan:"how long was I out for?"

Kyle:"4 weeks and 3 days"

Dan:"I heard everything you guys were saying and I am sorry that I put you all through that"

Rod:"it's ok son you are awake now and we are happy you are with us"

We all watched as Dan fell asleep I laid next to him on the bed as he wanted me to be with me, I didn't want to make a sick man mad so I did and we were watching TV while the others went to get some food. It was now just me and Dan and I was able to tell him how much I love him and I missed him...

Kate:"I am sorry for everything"

Dan:"hey, hey its not your fault"

Kate:"I just missed you so much and now your here with me again"

Dan:"yes I am and we're going to have a baby"

Kate:"yes we are, I found out a few days before you got hurt"

Dan:"when I get out of here we will find out the sex and so we can get things moving"

Kate:"i think it's a boy"

Dan:"really how so?"

Kate:"the way I am carrying but I could be wrong"

Dan placed his hands on my stomach and felt as the baby moved. During the night the baby was very active and it made it hard for me to sleep. I was so tired from today I fell asleep next to Dan.

I felt someone pull me off him when I was asleep and so I thought it was Dan moving or Kyle, but when I opened my eyes it was Aaron..

Aaron:"missed me???...."
