Baby Come Home...

CHAPTER TWO

DAN'S POV:

Still at the hospital it had been 3 days and I missed the session with Ralph but he understood and well he was a good friend and a brother to me. I was in the hospital room when the doctor came in. He thought this girl was my girlfriend and so I went a long with it.

"her condition is improving but she needs to wake up, she had to have her fallopian tube removed but she will be ok"

"how long does coma patients last?"

"it depends really and we won't know until she wakes up"

After the doctor left I held her hand and just hoped this girl who was attacked makes it put ok..

I went outside to call the guys they said "that I should get an award for helping her" , I laughed and said no just helping someone in need. I got off the phone and walked back into the room, I didn't really want to leave her last night but I had no choice I smelt and needed new clothes so I brought some for her in case she needs some when she wakes.

The guy who attacked her got away, what a fucking idiot he should be locked away. I can't understand how someone does that, I know times a tough but you don't need to attack someone.

I was on my phone texting Kyle, woody and will in a group chat on whatsapp when I saw her flutter her eyes. I locked my phone and grabbed her hand.

KATE'S POV:

I remember being in a alley and some guy ripping my shirt and trying to get my panties off. I felt his hands over me and blood all over my face and arms hurting. I don't remember much after that.

"w-w-where am I?"

"hey shh your in the hospital, my name is Daniel, Dan for short."

"what happened to me, I remember being attacked and then I felt someone taking me somewhere."

"I brought you here, and yes you were attacked. But I saved you... Do you remember your name or where you live?"

"yes, my name is Kate, I live in London and I live around the corner from crazy Joe's coffees"

"ok, that's a good start, nice to meet you Kate, you have been here for 3 days"

"3 days?....."

"yes and you were in a coma after the surgery"

"why did I have surgery for?"

"they had to remove a fallopian tube after the attack and you broke your wrist and some ribs too"

I moved my hand to where they took it out and felt the pain and cried and thought why is it happening to me and not someone else.

I saw my right it was in cast, I looked out to see i was in my own room, I looked over to see Dan he was now sitting on the bed next to me and he had my left hand he held it and rubbed circles around my thumb and index finger. I smiled and he hugged me, it shocked me at first but I held him close because I didn't want him to leave. He had helped me so much.

"thank you for helping me, I hope I can repay you some day."

"hey, Kate no need I did what I raised to do and that was to be a decent human being."

After Dan said that I cried into his shoulder and sobbed because I couldn't believe how nice he was being. I was some Cafe worker and he was this nice and good looking guy.

After I calmed down and fixed my self up Dan went and got me some food, I ate and the doctor came in and checked on me...

"how are you doing....?"

"my name is Kate Rutherford,.."

"well miss Rutherford, we have checked your scans and you are free to go home later today, I'll get your discharge papers and you can leave when you are dressed"

"thank you"

After the doctor left I headed to the bathroom and got changed I saw there was a t-shirt and track pants. I put them on and fixed my hair.

I came out of the bathroom to see Dan he was sitting down and on his phone. He looked up and smiled at me. I smiled back and sat in the bed, my stomach hurt and so did my arm... I ate the food that Dan had brought and felt a little better.

"hey has the doctor seen you?"

"yeah, he said I am ok to go home, will you be able to help me home? If not I'll get a bus"

"sure, it's not a problem really"

"thank you for everything and I will pay you back"

"it's no problem at all,.. and no need"

I got up and walked out of the hospital it was late afternoon and cold, Dan gave me his jumper and we headed to his car. I got in and put my seatbelt on and we headed to my house. I couldn't believe it was in a coma for a few days and now I'm going home.

We arrived at my house and I remembered I didn't have my keys, or my personal stuff it was taken when I was attacked. I started to cry. I fell to my flat door and sobbed I wanted my bed and my stuff.

"hey, hey its ok, look you can stay with me tonight and we can try tomorrow to see if any of your stuff was handed into the police station"

"no its ok really, please you have done so much I'll be ok, I'll just wait until my landlord comes in a few days"

"you can't sleep on the ground and in the cold, please just stay with me until we get your stuff"

"fine. Ok ill come... Thank you"

"no trouble, really"

We got back into the car and drove to Dan's flat. He lived around the corner from me and it made feel safe he was so close. I opened the car door and got out. I walked with Dan to his house and went inside and saw how warm it was and it felt like a real house. I was snapped out of my thoughts when I heard Dan say my name.

"Kate, I have a guest room so you can stay there and I'll get you some pillows and some blankets"

"thank you Dan, you are an amazing person."

I hugged him and just stood there while he rubbed my back, I broke away and sat on his sofa, Dan went to make up his spare room and I just started at his house because it was so beautiful filled with books, DVDs and antique furniture and nicnacks I was looking at his books when Dan coughed.

"if you want to go lie down the room is down the hall to the left and the bathroom is only a door away from it"

"thank you again, I will check it out, I didn't know you liked to read"

"heh, yeah I'm a nerd and I love film too"

"I am the same, I love movies and TV shows"

"well if you want to watch anything just let me know and I'll put it on"

"sure, do you mind if I use your bathroom?"

"you don't need to ask and it's down the hall 3rd door on the left"

"thank you"

I walked to the bathroom and locked the door and sat on the closed toilet just thinking, how can someone so nice take me in? I'm not anything special and well I don't know what he sees in me...

DAN'S POV:

After Kate went into the bathroom I went and ordered some pizza it was now 6pm and Kate must be hungry I was on the phone when Kate came out of the bathroom, she smiled and sat on the sofa and just started at the TV some show was on and she wasn't really paying any attention to it. After I hung up my phone I came and sat next to her but not too close she probably didn't want to be smothered and well she was attacked a few days ago.

Kate and I ate dinner that night I just watched as she tried to eat and drink, I helped her to her room and she thanked me again. It has been a long week for her and well I'm glad I can help..
