"Osamu Dazai!" An enraged voice yelled, "I'm going to fucking murder you!"
Dazai and his best friend, Chuuya, turned around and saw a buff second-year running towards them.
"Feel my Thousand Fire Punch!" he yelled,
"What's with that name?" Chuuya muttered to himself, "It's not like we're in an anime or something."
Both Dazai and Chuuya sighed at the same time and beat the crap out of him.

This is BSD High, one of the richest schools in Japan that's dedicated to fighting. Everything from grades to social status are determined by a duel. Dazai and Chuuya are both first-years who managed to conquer the entire school within their first month of arriving. Because of that, all the other students try to beat them so that they can take over BSD High and graduate with honors.

"Chuuya!" Dazai said, "I'm hungry! Let's get some food."
          "Sure," Chuuya replied,
They walked away from the second-year's bloodied body. The moment they turned the corner, a gang ambushed them.
"What a pain . . ." Chuuya said as he took off his jacket, "Let's finish this quickly Dazai."
Dazai and Chuuya fought in perfect harmony, malicious smiles crept up their faces. Every punch they dished out became increasingly powerful, the gang, completely beat up, ran away in fear.
"We will get our revenge! Watch your backs Soukoku!" one of them yelled,
"Alright! We'll be waiting!" Dazai replied nonchalantly, "Let's get food now! I'm starving Chuuya . . ."

Dazai and Chuuya walked to the closest McDonalds and sat down. Everyone around them froze up. It wasn't surprising, they were used to people staring since 'Soukoku' is famous for being the ultimate fighting duo. They ate in peace and walked out to see an even bigger gang surrounding the whole establishment.
"Omg . . . we usually never have this many fights in one day . . ." Dazai said, stretching his body,
"We are getting revenge for Leader!" one of them cried,
"All this trouble because of that one guy . . ." Chuuya sighed, "This is going to be a long day."
They spent the rest of the day fighting against the endless waves of gang members. Chuuya and Dazai walked out of the bloody onslaught victorious and without a scratch.
"You guys are fucking monsters," one of the defeated foes mustered out,
"Whatever," Chuuya replied, "Come on Dazai, it's getting dark and I'm kinda sore."
Dazai smiled at Chuuya as they walked to their homes under the bright moonlight. The stars glimmered, clearing their minds. Well, more specifically, only Chuuya's mind. Dazai was still caught up on one of the lackey's comment.

You guys are fucking monsters . . .
Monsters . . .
Monsters.

As they approached Dazai's house, Chuuya said his goodbyes and they parted ways. Dazai's smile vanished immediately as Chuuya turned the corner. Once he was completely out of sight, Dazai ran straight to the bathroom. He forced himself to vomit, human food always made him feel like crap. Dazai rinsed out his mouth and looked at his reflection. He tried to fake his smile again but it didn't work. All Dazai could see was his biggest burden: his fangs. He couldn't eat normal food and he constantly craved blood.

When was the last time I ate properly?...

Dazai collapsed from starvation and exhaustion. Slowly, he dragged himself to the kitchen and barely mustered enough strength to open the fridge. In a hidden compartment was a stock of pig blood, except there was only one left.

This should last me 3 days . . . I need to restock soon.

As Dazai regained his energy, the comment rang in his head again. The room started to spin and his vision became a little hazy.

I shouldn't be affected anymore! So many people have called us monsters . . . Why does it still hurt? . . .

Dazai crushed the blood packet and disposed of it. Reluctantly, he trudged back to the washroom and looked in the mirror. His fangs stained red from the blood made him want to throw up again.
You guys are fucking monsters . . .

He isn't half wrong . . . Dazai thought, Chuuya isn't the monster . . .
I am.
