Chuuya and Dazai's time together was interrupted by a gunshot followed by a blood-curdling scream outside the store.
"OH MY GOD DID HE JUST SHOOT SOMEONE?!" someone yelled, Chuuya and Dazai looked outside the window to see blood stained on it. The body of a little girl laid on the asphalt, barely alive. The bullet graze her chest and hit the wall instead. A young woman with a butterfly hairpin ran through the crowd while rummaging through her purse.
"Everyone please move out of the way! I am a doctor that can help this young lady!" she yelled at the crowd, "Please come with me."
The doctor picked up the girl princess-style and started to walk away while whispering words of reassurance to her.
"Don't worry... Dr. Yosano can save you," she said, "Thou shalt not die."
Chuuya felt relieved knowing that the girl was safe but was still uneasy. Who would just shoot a girl? His question was answered by a very familiar scream,
"DAZAI!! DIE YOU MONSTER!!"
Chuuya looked up to see the sole of Akutagawa's boot break through the store window. He landed in front of their table, followed by Atsushi entering from the actual door. Akutagawa didn't hesitate to put his gun to Dazai's head, just as he was about to shoot, Atsushi stopped him.
"You have to learn to be more rational!" Atsushi scolded Akutagawa, "Sure we are supposed to capture Dazai, but he's supposed to be alive. A. L. I. V. E. Get it?"
"Shut up," Akutagawa retorted, "He can survive a gunshot."
"That's not the point!"
Chuuya and Dazai, still paralyzed from shock, stood there as the Vampire Hunters argued. If they are here, that means Dazai's house is empty. Chuuya thought, Can Dazai teleport us back? He subtly nudged Dazai and mouthed "teleport home" to him, Dazai sadly shook his head. Maybe there's a cool down time? The hunters finally stopped arguing to see that their targets have escaped through the window and were running through the crowd. The police started to gather around the bakery after a bystander called 911 on Akutagawa for shooting the kid. They cuffed Akutagawa and forcefully pushed him towards the car.
"Let me go!" he yelled, "I'm here to hunt a vampire!"
The police flinched when Akutagawa mentioned "vampire",
"Do you have proof?" he asked,
Atsushi tapped the policeman's shoulder and showed him their identification, after examining it, he nodded and uncuffed Akutagawa. As the hunters ran off to chase Dazai, Akutagawa turned around quickly and flipped the policeman off.

"S**t! They're catching up to us!" Chuuya cursed, the hunters somehow tracked them down and were slowly gaining on them, "How long until you can use your teleportation again?"
"A couple more minutes, also I need more blood," Dazai responded, "But I have no clue where I could get it."
"Why don't you drink it from me?"
"If I do, you might die of blood loss."
They ducked into another store among the many on the streets of Ikebukuro hoping that it could buy them some time. Dazai stood in the corner, deep in thought,
"How could I get them to stop?" he muttered to himself, "What if I just killed them?"
"No way in hell I'm letting you do that!" Chuuya yelled, the cashier looked up at them with a concerned look, Chuuya lowered his voice, "I'm not gonna let you kill someone."
"Says the person who almost murdered their stalker."
"Shut up... Is there any other way to stop them from chasing us?"
Dazai went quiet for a second,
"There is... but I don't want to do it."
"What is it?"
"Negotiate with my former boss and the leader of Port Mafia, Ougai Mori."
"Do you think it will work?"
"Probably not, but it's our best option after the murder plan."
Without saying anymore, Dazai walked out of the store to see Akutagawa and Atsushi run towards him. He held both of his arms up to show that he was surrendering. Akutagawa pulled out his gun but Atsushi stopped him once more, they slowed down and stood in front of Dazai.
"Finally giving up?" Akutagawa asked smugly,
"Let me talk to Mori." Dazai said bluntly, ignoring Akutagawa's question,
"Why should we?" Atsushi replied, "What if you plan on killing him? I can't put our boss in danger."
"I want to negotiate with him, plus if I wanted to kill him, I could've done so a long time ago."
Atsushi pulled out his phone and dialed a number,
"Hello, Mori-san," he said, "We have Dazai cornered and he says he wants to talk to you. What should I do?... Let him talk to you?... Ok... Got it... Don't worry... Ok, bye."
Atsushi hung up and looked at Dazai,
"You're lucky Mori-san wants us to spare you. He agreed to talk to you as long as you bring your blood sack with you." he said while motioning towards Chuuya, "Follow us, we're going to drive you back to our headquarters."

Dazai and Chuuya entered a large bedroom followed by Atsushi and a very grumpy Akutagawa.
"We brought them just like you asked." Atsushi said, "Do you want us to leave you alone?"
"Yes, thank you very much Atsushi," Mori replied,
After they exited the room, the tall and slender man turned his chair around to face the vampire and his partner.
"So Dazai, what did you want to talk about?"
