Chuuya stared at Dazai as they ate breakfast together. It was their everyday weekend meal: Bread, fired egg, and a glass of milk (or blood in Dazai's case). Chuuya's hips hurt and bruises formed on his neck from all the times Dazai bit him. Dazai sighed and put down his fork,

"Chuuya, you are making it very hard to walk right now..." he said, "Do you have something to tell me?"

"Uh, well," Chuuya started, "If you remember, do you know how Ace's gambling game worked? I'm still not sure how I won."

"Great question, I still have no idea. All I remember was that I passed out and when I woke up again, everything was fuzzy. I couldn't see anything around me, but I heard your voice. I could feel that you were near me."

"That still didn't answer my question."
Chuuya was desperate for an explanation, it wasn't everyday where your life is on the line.

"I told you, I have no idea. I don't even know what Ace is like because I've never seen him before at Port Mafia!"

"Wait, you make it sound like you are a part of Port Mafia..."

"Well, uh... I was."

"What?! But don't they want to kill vampires? How could you join without getting caught?"

"I wasn't as mature of a vampire back then. I could control my desire for blood slightly more. But that's where I also met Akutagawa, who was my subordinate. I taught him mercilessly how to fight properly but he never listened. He's probably furious and wants to kill me even more now."

"Speaking of Akutagawa, I have no clue where they are because I just grabbed you and ran back home. They could still be after us!"
Just as Chuuya said that, the doorbell rang. They both looked at each other and neither of them got up to answer the door. The timing became increasingly frantic and annoying until it finally went quiet.

CRASH!

Chuuya and Dazai turned around to the sound of glass shattering. Akutagawa, with finger marks around his neck, was standing there with an incredibly angry look on his face. Too stunned to respond, Chuuya and Dazai returned to their senses after the door also came crashing down. Atsushi was standing at the entranceway with a very disappointed expression.

" Akutagawa! You have to stop running off on your own!" Atsushi yelled,  "We could've caught him sneakily if you weren't so impulsive!"

Chuuya finally regained his composure and grabbed Dazai's wrist. Both if their escape routes were blocked but Chuuya thought that they'd have a better chance fighting Atsushi than Akutagawa. He ran towards the broken doorway before hearing a gunshot behind him. Chuuya felt Dazai's hand go limp and heard the thud of Dazai's body as it hit the ground.

Why are you always getting shot? Chuuya thought. He saw Akutagawa aim the gun at his head so he ducked behind the kitchen counter. Now, Atsushi was running towards Dazai but the rubble from the doorway was significantly slowing him down. Chuuya knew he couldn't carry Dazai and run fast enough to escape them so he grabbed a kitchen knife and slit his finger. The blood flowed from the tip of his finger into Dazai's mouth, where Chuuya hoped that Dazai would wake up.

"Ugh..." Dazai groaned quietly, his arm twitched and his eyelids flickered. By now Akutagawa and Atsushi were meters away from capturing them. Luckily, it seems that Atsushi talked some sense into Akutagawa from the last time because he wasn't impulsively trying to kill Dazai.

"Chuuya Nakahara," Atsushi said, "Just surrender Dazai to us and we will leave you alone."

"Never!" Chuuya yelled, pulling Dazai's unconscious body towards him, "You have to take my life before I'd ever let you touch him!"

"Ugh, what a disgustingly cliché line." Akutagawa muttered to himself,

"I will ask one more time. Get. Away. From. Him." Atsushi sternly demanded, pointing his gun at Chuuya's head, "I don't want to hurt you if I don't have to."

Dazai finally opened his eyes and processed what was going on. A gun to Chuuya's head, surrounded by the vampire hunters, and absolute mess in his house.

"Please tell me you can pull some vampire trick to get is out of this." Chuuya whispered to Dazai,

Dazai thought for a second and came up with an idea. Problem was, he didn't have enough energy to pull it off.

"I don't care how extreme the plan is, you can drink my blood to get more energy to pull it off." It seemed like Chuuya read his mind, he subtly stuck out his arm so Dazai could drink from it. He sunk his teeth into Chuuya's forearm and Atsushi quickly realized that they were trying to get away. He fired a round at Chuuya's head but it was too late.

They already disappeared, leaving nothing but a drop of blood behind.
