My mom and I left to hang out at the mall. We went to see a movie before shopping. Some silly comedy. After the film we shopped for a few things at Macy's. While my mom was at JC Penny's. I was picking out a few new outfits. My mom soon showed up with me and said it was time to go.
Instead of driving home we stopped anat St. Benedict Catholic Church. God knows why. I noticed a whole bunch of people standing outside talking. They were dress in formal wear. "Mom, what's going on?" I asked. She ignored me as we stepped into this room. I noticed a beautiful white strapless dress on a manikin. I stood there in an awe. "Put it on." said my mom.
I smiled at her and undressed. I loved this dress. My mom curled my hair. My dad comes in all smiles. "Let's go everybody is waiting." he said taking my hand. He led me down the entryway. We walked out the double doors and down the aisle as the music played. Tears fell from my eyes as we walked. I smiled at Robert who looked sexy in his tuxedo. My dad gave me away at the alter as everyone took their seats.
Robert held my hands tight as he smiled down at me. I gazed up in those beautiful carmel eyes. Those eyes I fell in love with. I don't regret ever falling for him. He was always the love of my life. We may have a huge age difference but, I could care less about that. When your in love age is just a number.
The priest began the ceremony. We repeated our vows from the priest. Robert placed the wedding ring on my finger. I did the same. "By the power invested me. I know pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride." Robert crashed his lips against mine kissing me passionately. I can hear everyone clapping and cheering beside us.
Preston pushes us apart taking us both by the hand. Robert and I busted out laughing as our son lead us down the aisle. The reception party was pretty wild once again. My dad always stoled the dancefloor dancing to The Bee Gees. Him and Robert danced like goof balls to MC Hammer.
My mom shoved me on stage giving me the microphone. I shook my head no. I knew she wanted me to sing. She takes another mic and winked at me. Oh my God! She better not. I haven't sung in so long.
"Ladies and Gentleman, may I have your attention please." she announced. All eyes were on us as I covered my face with one hand. "My beautiful daughter wrote a song back when she was thirteen. I know deep down she wrote it for someone very special. She has decided to dedicate this wonderful song to her husband. Bobby hope you like it!" She rushes off the stage and over to the DJ booth handing him the cd.
I gave everyone a half smile and giggling nervously. "Oh mom I hate you so much." I mumbled into the mic. "Whenever your ready!" she shouted. I rolled my eyes and motioned to her that I was ready. "The song I wrote is called: Never Been Hurt." The song started to play and I held the mic up to my lips to sing.
I felt picture perfect
On and off a shelf to a broken frame of mind, a broken frame of mind
It comes back and haunts me
A bullet undercover, it fooled me every time, it fooled me every time
But even if I lose it all
I've got so much left to give, I won't give up, no, no
My heart's on the front-line, I'm not afraid
I will love you
Like I've never been hurt
Run through fire for you
Like I've never been burned.
I'm gonna risk it all like I've never lost
Gonna give it all I've got
