"Ugh! This sucks!" Marian pouted as she rested her hands on the back of her head, "We haven't seen a single monster at all in the past hour!" that was true, and thanks to Reccer, I was able to sense all the monsters that were staying well away from us.
"It's strange though, we are normally confronted with many of the lower level monsters but I haven't even been able to see any that have run away." Zanger looked around in an attempted to see any.
"It probably has something to do with that Shadow Horse." Jaze looked around and I looked down at her, I hadn't noticed how short she was, in fact, all these beastmen are short, I probably tower over them by a foot at least.
"Any ideas why Elm?" I looked down at Zanger and shook my head.
"My best guess is the Shadow Horse like Jaze said." Zanger looked down in thought, I don't think I'll be able to stay with them for long if I'm the one responsible for keeping them from hunting, what did they say they were hunting currently? "Remind me again what your hunting?" Marain looked up at me.
"We are hunting Seasonal Deer, we need at least two for the quest." now I was starting to feel bad, there would be no way for them to finish their quest if I stuck around, perhaps Reccer has a suggestion.
"I think we should rest here." The three looked at me in confusion and irritation, oops.
"Why? We need to get two Seasonal Deer and they won't just walk right up to us." Jaze glared at me suspiciously, she really needs to stop that, it's so. . . I pushed the emotion back.
"I need to go to the bathroom." I didn't really, but that wasn't the reason, I needed to consult Reccer.
"You don't need to go to the bathroom silly, what are you planning?" I hadn't realized they could talk to me without the status window open.
"Fine, but be fast." Zanger motioned me to hurry and I moved quickly away from the trio. Once I was out of earshot, sorry once I was out of their ridiculously large earshot, I stopped.
"Reccer, is there anything I can do?" I asked, testing if I had to have my status open to talk to them, Reccer seemed excited, they must have been thinking about it too.
"Yes, there is, it's a bit tricky and it may take a few tries." that was good news.
"Shoot." I crossed my arms and leaned against a tree, pleased that I didn't have to open my status window.
"There is a spell that you can perform that will conceal your Monster Aura." I raised my eyebrow.
"Monster Aura?"
"Yes, Monster Aura is an aura that only affects monsters and can only be detected by a spell and a special crystal."
"Why is it so hard to detect?"
"It's because it only applies to monsters and is not seen in communicative beings." I furrowed my brows.
"So, why do I have it?" Reccer seemed to get really excited.
"My best guess it the fact that you are a fallen and ascended, you have broken the natural balance of this world. Which means that you're not going to be able to live as a normal being." that's just great, now I stand out even more.
"So what can I do about this Monster Aura? You said something about a spell?" Reccer nodded, not sure how I know that, but it just seemed obvious.
"You'll need to focus on the aura first and then [Conseal]."
"That's it? It seems awfully simple." I thought they said it was difficult.
"It may seem that way, but once you try it, you'll see what I mean. First you must focus on your Monster Aura so you can conceal it." I closed my eyes and tried to focus on the monster aura, immediately I saw what they meant, I had no idea what I was supposed to focus on. I could tell that there were several things that surrounded me, but I didn't know what was what. "It's the one that seems to be wild and untamed." I guess they surprised themself as I was able to feel the now wild and very untamed aura that was acting like a raging storm in a huge radius.
"[Conceal]!" I felt the wild storm surge into me and vanish within seconds.
"I'm surprised I was able to communicate with you while you were in the middle of the casting, not to mention I was able to pinpoint which aura was the monster aura." I nodded and sighed, almost immediately a lizard looking thing with ten legs lunged at me. Everything became a blur as my mind seemed to speed up and I let the lizard bit me. The next thing I knew was the lizard was stone and it really hurt.
"Ouch!" I whacked at the stone lizard to try and get it off, but it's solid stone body proved even more painful as the teeth tore through my skin and muscle. I cried out in pain as the lizard dropped and shattered leaving me with a ripped up arm that blazed with pain.
"Elm! Are you alright?" I tried to hold my arm but it stung more with my skin's contact and I dropped to my knees.
"What type of monster was that?" Reccer shook their head.
"It was a normal C rank monster and it shouldn't have any ability to be able to turn it into stone after biting." They seemed really confused and I started to worry.
"[Status]" the window opened in front of me and I scanned down the display, not really registering what I saw.

Reccer had gone silent form shock and I was staring at my skills. I glanced up at my [HP] saw that it had fully recovered.
"Reccer, is this normal?" They shook their head slowly.
"No, not even close, you gained too many levels for a simple C rank monster, not only that, but your stats are way too high." Fantastic, not that I needed to stand out even more.
"Okay. . ." I looked down at my arm after the pain seemed to vanish and saw that it had healed completely, there was a slight scare of the teeth marks, but you'd have to really be looking to see them. "Uh. . . I guess we should go back to the group. . ."
"Wait, I want to see what [Toxic Blood] is."
"How do I do that?"
"Just select the skill and it will give you more information." I nodded and did as they said.
[Toxic Blood] - deals a random mild to fatal condition to the enemy if they consume the blood of the user. (passive skill)
"That is actually really cool."
"And overpowered, to have that skill and have it be a passive skill is, unheard of." we weren't able to converse any further as Jaze, Marian, and Zanger came running towards me.
"Hey! Elm! Are you alright?" I waved at them, there is no way I can be that overpowered can I?
