After a long time of focusing on the guild's information gathering and levelling, to be exact is 2 weeks, each teams returned and reported the completion of their jobs. Each department then reported their findings in turn in a meeting gathering all the top brass of the guild.
First was the change for the crafter players. They discovered that all items from the game period were still usable, but then, the materials from this offline world cannot be handled by the system skills alone. Crafting from materials here, even if they are of the same name and quality from items before, must be done manually and not through the skill. Though after handling a material once, they can then use the system skills to process the material but with visibly low quality.
The crafters were now boiling with their creative ideas and wanted to try creating new items that did not exist in game, specifically firearms and vehicles.
Next to report was the scouting team. They discovered that the location and geography was nothing similar to the game's original map. They discovered hundreds of villages and a couple of cities scattered around the vicinity. They gathered information there and discovered that the area our guild was in is in the middle of a forest named Forest of Death as there are a ton of monsters lurking in it that not even a city's garrison could deal with.
The Forest of Death is surrounded by three nations. North is the Kingdom of Decress, a fairly wide nation brimming with agriculture. To the East is the Kingdom of Norpus, a country which is on the brink of destruction. And last is to the Southeast, the Godsoul Empire. A militaristic nation that expanded through invasion using their unparalleled military might.
The mention of monsters made Mako worry for a bit but after hearing the last report, she felt relief.
Ren-ren, Sephiroth and Grisalda reported that they exterminated all monsters within twenty-five-kilometer-radius from the guild. After counting, they said that they eliminated over 6,000 level 400+ monsters and over 100,000 low level monsters. Of course, the materials were gathered by the crafters to use for further experimentation.
But then, Ren-ren added a bomb at the end of their report.
"Also, we heard from villages off south that the Empire is planning to conquer the Kingdom of Decress." He said. "The invasion path seems to be the shortest one, and that is through the forest of death."
Mako pondered for a moment. The forest of death isn't circular but rather spread throughout the land from the eastern edge of Decress up to the western edge of Godsoul. Meaning, there is no other path than through the forest. Still, there is one point that made Mako hesitate while looking at a map.
"We are right in the middle of those two..." She said with a sigh.
No further explanation was needed for everyone to understand what's going to happen.
