Hurried footsteps could be heard running through the hallway of Mako's Castle. After she turned another corner, she quickly entered without as much as knocking.
"Mako! Bad news!" The woman wearing tight fit black rider suit spoke in a hurry.
"What's wrong, Carie?" Mako asked. "Calm down and speak slowly." She coolly added.
"... Y-yes..." The woman with sensual clothes, Carie, took a few deep breaths before continuing once more.
"I discovered something fatal to the game! Its the pain! They implemented the sense of pain in the latest update!"
Upon hearing that, Mako's eyes widened a little. Though her expression returned in just a moment after.
"... That is bad news..." She supplemented. Mako then tried pinching her forearm. The pain she felt was the same, if not stronger, compare to real pain. "There really is pain."
"Don't just calmly analyze it!" Zef shouted from the side. "This is a disaster!" He added.
Soon after, three men returned to the guild. It was the three stooges Mark, Xeno, and Volt. Mark was dragging his bloody leg while being supported by Volt, who'se left arm is dangling, powerless. Xeno, a bit better compared to the two, but seemed too tired to walk without his lance's support. The three are covered in blood all over.
Mako, upon seeing this, confirmed once more. "Looks like pain isnt the only thing added in the update."
Based on the three's story, when they started farming, all went well. However, once they were faced with monsters of level 200 and up, they started struggling and received a hit. The pain from the strike caused them to falter, where Mark got his ankle twisted. After that, Volt protected him with his shield but then his shoulder got dislocated. Xeno escorted the two to return, clearing out enemies alone. All of them had wounds all over, splattering blood on their clothes.
"You three did well returning alive despite that. I thought you will all just respawn like usual here in the guild house." Mako said to the three.
"Are you f*cking out of your mind?! Being hit hurts like this! How painful would dying feel like!" Mark shouted to Mako, his harsh tone never changes.
Though dying has a penalty, it just confines you in the spawn point for 5 minutes, reduces you experience points by 10% and cuts your on hand money by 20%. Some players who are too lazy to bother walking back to town would intentionally get killed and respawn to teleport back.
Mako then seemed to be pondering about something, holding her shapely chin. Then, she raised her head and declared.
"Call all guild members and give them warning about Pain and Wound becoming close to reality. Phantom Delivery will have our weekly meeting now."
Hearing this, Carie saluted before running away. Since her job is assassin, her movement speed is the fastest among all classes. Thus, her job is mostly delivering messages, scouting, or quest hunting. Still, within the guild, she's within the top 10.
Mako walked to her private room.
"Got to make plans for our future actions." She muttered under her breath.
An hour or so later, all her guild members were finally gathered. Mako walked up the stage on the far end of the hall while hundreds of eyes stared at her.
And so, their meeting began.
