Chapter 3: Teach Me
Arther paced back and forth in front of Elsa and Jack who he finally let into his house, not like he had a choice. Elsa didn't know what her father was going to do, his been pacing for almost five minutes not looking at her or Jack. Finally Arther stopped and looked at them, "So... you made this... man into your familiar?" Arther asked making Jack and Elsa nod. Arther pinched the bridge of his nose, "What the hell were you thinking Elsa? After what happened to your..." "It was an accident sir." Jack said making Elsa look at him. Jack didn't like feeling Elsa upset by being yelled by her father, he also didn't like the idea of her crying in her room later today.
"I thought Elsa was someone else, she was wearing a hood so I didn't see her hair but from the back she looked like an old friend. I snuck up behind her, grabbed her which scared her and she did the familiar spell on me. It was self defense." Jack said. It wasn't the best lie but at less it might help Elsa out, maybe even get her out of the woods. Arther study Jack, he didn't know where he saw him from before... He knew he'd see him somewhere he just didn't know where. "That doesn't explain why Elsa used the familiar spell, she has spells for self defense." Arther said. "I wanted to know if I could do the spell..." Elsa said finally speaking up. Arther locked eyes on her now, almost making Elsa scared to talk.
Her father was a sweet hearted man who just loved and wanted to protect his family, but when he was upset, he was pretty scary. "I was practicing the spell, just in case I ever needed to use it. Witches have familiars, I just want to know if I was strong enough to do the spell too." Elsa said as she looked at Jack, "I didn't mean to use it on Jack. But I also don't know how to undo it." Elsa said making Jack flinch, he knew she didn't know how to but it still stung to hear her say it. Arther didn't know what to do as he sat down putting his hand to his head, he wished his wife was here. He knew Elsa needed a teacher but with her being the only witch in this village it was hard for her to learn.
The books he gotten from when he goes on the road for work help but it stills not as good as having a teacher. Arther's thoughts were broken when he heard a noise behind him. Coming down the stairs was his youngest daughter Anna. Her strawberry blonde hair was in two braids and she was wearing her nightgown with a green robe covering her. "Good morning every...Oh... We have a guest." She said as she pulled her robe closer to her body. Jack and Arther both stood making Arther look at Jack. "Anna, this is Jack... His..." Elsa started but didn't know how to finish it, did she want to tell Anna what Jack was?
"His our new worker." Arther said making Anna look at her father, "New worker? Did Kristoff quite?" Anna asked sounding heartbroken, she liked to watch Kristoff work in the backyard or help him with the horses. "No, he still works with us Jack is..." "Jack is helping me out. His my new teacher." Elsa said making Jack and Arther look at her, "His going to help me with some spells." Elsa said looking at Jack, hoping he understood what she was asking. "Oh, so you're a witch too Jack?" Anna asked making Jack nod, "Well, sort of, I did some studying of some lost spell books back home." Jack said.
That caught Arther's attention, "And where is home Jack?" He asked Jack raised an eyebrow, "Sir?" He ask as he sat back down and Arther followed, "Where is home? What did you do before you... Decided to join us." Elsa was also curious of who Jack was, she didn't even know his last name. "You know, you never did tell me your last name." Elsa said making Jack look at her again, his last name. Shit what was he going to tell her? He had to think fast, he could only think of one name that would hide who he really is, "Right.. I guess I didn't. It's Frost. Jack Frost. And to answer your question Sir." Jack said looking back at Arther.
He took a deep breath, "I'm a guard." He said as he looked at Anna, she didn't know he was a vampire and form what Elsa's family was feeling, they didn't want her to know. "Wait a guard? A guard for who?" Anna asked starting to get confused and Jack could feel her confusion. He had to get rid of her and her questions. Jack locked eyes with Anna, You are going to go upstairs to get ready and forget that I said anything about me being a guard. Jack told her through telepathically making Anna's eyes widen for a moment before she shook her head. "I think I'm going to go get ready for the day." She said as she started to walk upstairs. "Okay honey." Arther said but didn't take his eyes off of Jack. He saw that Jack's eyes change color meaning he was using his powers, he didn't know what he did to Anna but he was going to find out. Jack could feel Arther's eyes on him as he turn back to face his Master's father. Once Anna was out of sight, Elsa turned to Jack. "Who are you a guard for?" Elsa asked but form the look on her father's face, she had a good feeling who he used to work for.
