Chapter 4

Hey guys it's me Monteminte! I am so so so sorry for not posting for such a long time! I've been so busy with life in general, I promise I will try to update as regularly as I can, just bare with me.

I couldn't believe both Daniela and I were chosen to embark on the mission. Daniela was happier than ever before, she grinned from ear to ear. We happily chatted about the journey ahead of us until there was a knock on our dormitory door. Daniela and I both leapt up and sprinted to open it up.

We sprung open the door and here was miss Devonian standing with her bodyguards. Including the one with the tattoo.

"Hello girls, how lovely to see you, " she says sternly.

I replied with a smile but couldn't help but think about her bodyguard.

"As you know you have been chosen for the mission. If you don't mind please do come with me to the debrief, "

I couldn't help but notice the sly smile spreading across her face.

Daniela and I both followed Ms Devonian down the corridor and into the debrief office. I was extremely excited. I hadn't been on a mission in years. My breathing was fast and hard. I held Daniela's hand as we practically skipped behind Ms Devonian. The cold wind blew around Daniela's red hair like flames of a campfire.

The debrief room was warm and cozy. A large rectangular table was spread across the middle of the room. Lights hung down from the ceiling in a fashionable line. Towards the back of the room was a large whiteboard.

Three seats were occupied. In the first seat was taken up by Sam Miller. He had scruffy dark brown hair and dark brown eyes. He was talking to a boy next to him. I remember his name being Adrian Lee. They were both talking in hushed whispers.

"Hello boys, these are your other rescue team members Daniela and Alexia, " Miss Devonian introduced.

We all looked around at our fellow teammates. The two boys smiled at us. As my eyes met with Sam and my stomach fluttered. He was pretty good looking. Daniela and I took a seat and looked towards the front of the room where Ms Devonian was standing.

"As you know, three of our students have been taken by P.I.N. Their names are Valerie, Devan and Ashton." As soon as she had said it she wrote the three names up on the whiteboard. "We know where they have taken the three, and it isn't too far, the base is located in Utah, which is only 3 hours away by car."

"Your mission is to find the three students and bring them back safely. I will now hand out your debrief pamphlet." "It contains all the information you need to know about your task."

Ms Devonian handed me a folder with a few papers jutting out of the margins. I happily took the folder and opened it up. Inside was three pictures I recognised the first one as Valerie, Daniela's sister. The second one was Devon and the final being Ashton.

The last piece of paper in the pamphlet was a map. It was the directions on how to get to the P.I.N base. It wasn't far from here, we were in Colorado and the map said the base was in Utah. I scanned over some of the other information until I heard Ms Devonian speak again.

"We need you to go as soon as possible. The longer we wait the more the captives could be in danger, " she said in a harsh tone.

"You will be leaving by nightfall, cars are ready for your journey." "We have packed you each backpack containing everything you'll need, including food."

"Wait a second! It was Adrian. You are just sending us out onto this trip with barely any information about the matter, I don't think you've realised but we are just kids!" He exclaimed.

I had to admit I was also skeptical about the plan, Ms Katharine would always talk about the mission thoroughly before departing with us. So the way Ms Devonian was rushing the debrief made me think even more about her so called "trusty" body guard.

"I would think that because this is such an urgent matter that we would have to take extreme actions, even if that means the journey will be made to disembark even sooner then nightfall. As for you Adrian Lee, if you have any issue with our plan you are more then welcome to forfeit the mission, we wouldn't have any trouble finding a replacement.

As soon as the words left Ms Devonians mouth it was like a spell had been placed on Adrian. He closed his mouth and sunk down slightly in his chair.

"So will you, or will you not join the team for the mission, " Ms Devonian was teasing him, and we could all tell.

There was a timely pause until Adrian finally answered.

"Yes I will, " he answers with his teeth clenched, his fists in tight balls.

That was the matter sorted, Ms Devonian dismissed us without another word. We all stood up and piled out of the debrief room. I took one last look at Ms Devonian, she had her head turned and was violently hissing something into her bodyguards ear.

The sun was almost set by the time Daniella and I had finished packing. We didn't need to pack a lot, as Ms Devonian had packed for us. Thought of Ms Devonian being a spy was nagging at me like a termite in a piece of wood. I was sure something was up. Ms Katherine would never send a rescue team on a mission so quickly. It used to be very organised, we would train privately for at least a day before embarking on a mission. But I had to go. I had to save the hostages.
