~Joyce's POV~
When I arrived in my classroom, I realized I was late, but that didn't bother me at all. In fact, what bothered me was the new transfer student who stood beside my homeroom teacher. He looked familiar, too familiar! I wonder if I've seen him somewhere... When I sat down my seat, he started to introduce himself. "Hello everyone, I'm Michael Sebastian. I hope I will get along with everyone this year," said Michael. "Michael Sebastian, Michael Sebastian? Where have I heard this name from? No! It can't be him! Is he Michael Sebastian, my childhood friend?!" I exclaimed. For the rest of the day, Michael didn't come up and talk to me for some reason. I know he knows me, but the most frustrating thing is that why won't he talk to me?!
I was walking to school as always, but when I entered the classroom, I saw a pink letter in my desk. Without putting my backpack down, I opened the pink letter and began to read "I like you, will you go out with me?" That love letter, that writing, I recognized at once whose it was; it was from my childhood friend, Michael. I will never forget Michael's writing because Michael was very close friends with me. I still remembered what happened when I was small....
When I was little, my parents couldn't take care of me because they were so busy with their jobs, so I was left alone with a babysitter. That babysitter was Michael's mom, and since the babysitter couldn't leave Michael alone, she had to bring Michael along to work. Michael soon became friends with me, and with that, we went to school together and even did our homework together; that was what made Michael's writing unforgettable. One day, Michael had disappointing news; he had to move. I cried for days alone in the corner, but I knew that I had to accept the fact that he had left. Ever since the day I met Michael again, we never talked to each other for some unknown reason.
I've never expected him to love me; I've always treated him as my best friend, but lovers? I don't have any interest in him, but I also don't want to hurt his feelings. WHY?! Why does it have to be him," thought Joyce. Just then, I heard a lot of shouts from the girls screaming, "Oh it's Xavier!" and the atmosphere changed rapidly into a "lovey-dovey" atmosphere. I then realized that Xavier, the most popular amongst the boys, will be going to my class from now on! Just when Xavier was standing next to the teacher's desk, Mr. Cordone , our home room teacher, walked in and gave a two announcements. "Announcement #1: Xavier will be staying in this class for the rest of the year; Announcement #2: I will be partnering up Joyce with Xavier because they will be assisting me for the rest of the year," said Mr. Cordone . Xavier began to introduce himself to the class as Xavier Anderson, and chose the seat next to me. "WHAT?! THE SEATS OF ALL SEATS!! WHY DID HE HAVE TO SIT NEXT TO ME?!"
