-Joyce's POV-

Sigh... I'm stuck with Xavier as my new partner. As the school bell rang, we had our free time for 15 minutes, and during those 15 minutes, I've gotten nothing , but evil glares from the girls, which made me feel really uncomfortable.

When class started again, Mr. Cordone handed out worksheets for our exam, and as I was taking out my pouch, I heard Xavier mumble under his breath, "Shoot, I forgot my pencil pouch!" Do you mind if I borrow a pencil, Joyce?" My heart skipped abeat, but seconds later I cleared my mind and replied, "S-sure!" He flashed a kind smile at me, and went back to the exam. Thirty minutes later, everyone finished their exams, and Mr. Sanchez announced our rankings; 1. Xavier Anderson 2. Joyce Hamilton.... "WHAT?! How is that possible, Joyce got second place?!" exclaimed one of the girls. I, on the other hand, sat there, bedazzled, shocked, horrified, with my mouth open. "I can't allow my grades to drop! I must study harder!" I said, in a determined voice. Just then, Xavier's face came closer to mine with an amazed look, and said, "You are a very interesting girl, indeed." I was guessing that he heard me, and... "HOLYCRAP! DID HE JUST SAY THAT I WAS INTERESTING! THERE WOULD BE NO WAY XAVIER LIKES ME, WILL THERE?!" I thought as I was walking towards my locker.

I realized that I would be partnering up with Xavier during P.E, so there's no time to lose! When I arrived at the race track, I found Xavier surrounded by girls, but I didn't really care because my only goal here is to beat Xavier. "Xavier, you shall become my rival!" I shouted, as I pointed one finger at him! Xavier gladly accepts with a smirk.

I heard Mr. Cordone blow his whistle and everyone lined up for the 1000 kilometer race. There was once a rule for P.E that whoever wins a race, that person chooses someone to kiss. That rule was banned a long time ago, but Mr. Cordone brought it up again because he thinks that his students will have more "confidence" with that rule. I, on the other hand, think that this rule is stupid, and foolish, but no matter how many times I've pleaded the principal, Mr. Loucis, he would just ignore me.

Suddenly, Mr. Cordone blew the whistle and the race started. I ran as fast as I could, and soon I caught up to Xavier. "Shit, I think I'm going to run out of energy, but I can't allow myself to fail right now! I'm not giving up!" I said to myself. Then, I saw the finish line up ahead. I must beat Xavier! With all my might, I managed to cross the finish line, but with 2nd place. I can't believe it! This guy managed to cross the finish line without looking tired at all!

Mr. Cordone congratulated Xavier and gave him permission to kiss one girl in our class. While the girls were all shouting, "KISS ME, XAVIER! NO KISS ME" I headed towards my chair. I sat down and I saw Mr. Sanchez and Xavier talking to each other. Then Mr. Cordone looked at me, and began to turn towards Xavier, who nodded. Xavier started to head to my direction while I started to pretend that I didn't notice and went back to drink my water. I was shocked, and dumbfounded when I felt Xavier's lips on mine, and soon the girls gathered around us with a jealous look on their face. I tried to push Xavier away, but he was too strong. After 5 minutes which felt like 1 hour, Mr. Sanchez came up to us, and Xavier flashed a smile to Mr. Cordone. I yelled, "THAT WAS MY FIRST KISS!" Xavier replied, "Pfft, I know, and that was mine, too." "I hate you, I absolutely despise you, Xavier!" I shouted, as the girls gasped. "I can tell," answered Xavier, while walking away.

It was after school, and as I was walking down the halls to the front gate, I saw Xavier standing there as if he was waiting for someone. I started crying when I looked at him, and Xavier's eyes widened. He came closer to me and apologized for what happened at P.E and hugged me tightly until it began to rain.

Since it's raining, Xavier suggested to go to my house, so we can get to know each others lives more. When we arrived at my house, I opened the door to invite Xavier in, and went straight to myroom while Xavier followed behind. Up at my room, I began to tell Xavier that my mom, Lucy Hamilton, was a veterinarian, and my dad, Bob Hamilton, was a doctor. I explained to him about my childhood, and that I was always left alone because my parents were always busy with their jobs. Then, I got to the part about Michael, and the love letter that he put on my desk. I asked Xavier what I should do and he replied " Well if you don't have any feelings for him, then you should just reject him... AND BECOME MY GIRLFRIEND!" "WHAT?! THERE IS NO WAY, IN HELL I WOULD!" I exclaimed. "I will make you mine, someday," said Xavier, with a smirk on his face. Just as I was about to throw a pillow at Xavier, I toppled over my pile of books, and landed on top of Xavier. Our face was an inch apart, my blood boiled to the tip of my ears, my face blushed cherry red, and my heart was pounding. We were moving our heads closer, together, and I felt his lips. Xavier pinned me down on the bed as he kissed me passionately. Just then, the ringing of my cell phone interrupted us, and I quickly pulled away to answer my call. "Hello? Joyce speaking," I said. "Hi sweetheart, I'm sorry to bother you, but your dad and I will be visiting you next Friday, said Mom, Oh and by the way, I brought a boy alongside with me, so you guys ca- WHAT?! XAVIER, WHY DID YOU CUT OFF MY MOM ON THE PHONE.
