"Ever done this before?" Michael asked, keeping one hand gripped tightly on the steering wheel, staring straight ahead at the road. He was trying desperately to keep himself under control because he couldn't really believe that Addy was sitting in the passenger seat of his car. This was something Michael had thought about a lot, (probably more than he'd like to admit) but he wasn't really sure how all of this would go. He never really bothered to create any sort of game plan for an amazing night because he never really expected to get this far. They'd been driving for a few minutes, going nowhere in particular as far as both of them could tell. That was okay, though, because they knew they'd have all night to figure something out. Addy felt a huge nervous lump in her throat and tried frantically to clear it before responding.

"No, actually. You're the only guy I've ever gotten in a car with after we've only met twice, so yes, this is a first." Michael chuckled lowly, looking over at Addy for a second before glancing back to the road so she wouldn't see him. the Something inside him changed when he was around her, and he wasn't sure how or why. It just did. She was looking out the passenger window with her hands in her lap and her hair was a mess, but Michael was sure he'd never seen someone so pretty in his life. She was different, and it bothered him to no end that she drove him this crazy. He was Michael Clifford, famous for one night stands. Girls weren't supposed to make him feel all mushy like Addy did. He snapped out of it, deciding it was safer to divert his attention to the road than daydream about her pretty eyes.

"Good then," he said, feeling relieved and glad that he was the first to do something like this for her. He didn't want to think about her going on late night adventures with other boys. "I'm not too sure what we're gonna do, though," he admitted. "I wasn't really planning on getting this far." He laughed a little bit, feeling his heart beat a little faster when she laughed too.

"Well, I haven't really eaten dinner yet," Addy told him, and he turned at the intersection heading towards town. "Are you hungry?" Michael nodded, already planning the first place he was gonna take Addy.

"Yeah, you wanna go to Hooters?" he asked, completely serious. It didn't really occur to him that you weren't supposed to take a girl to a place like that, but they had good food and girls to look at, so Michael assumed she'd be fine with it too.

"Um," she said nervously, fumbling with her hands and staring down into her lap. "Sure." Addy had never been there, but Calum had and he told her about it. She knew exactly what it was and was a little surprised Michael asked to take her there, but she didn't really want to argue with him (and she heard they had good chicken wings).

They drove for a few more minutes and made a bit more awkward small talk about school and the weather before pulling up to the building and parking. They clicked their seatbelts off at exactly the same time and Michael unlocked the doors, unsure of whether or not he should open it for her considering she was probably used to classy treatment. He decided against it, telling himself that she was perfectly capable and he couldn't be too impressive, especially on the first date. After they both got out, (Addy was actually glad Michael wasn't being an over-the-top gentleman; she was still a little awkward when it came to boys holding doors open for her and accepting general chivalry) Michael grabbed Addy's hand. He felt kind of weird holding a girl's hand, because he hadn't done anything like this in such a long time. He was confident, though, and he was pretty sure he'd read somewhere that confidence was a turn on.

Addy felt her self esteem drop dramatically when she walked in the restaurant, looking around and feeling pretty average compared to everyone in the place. Everywhere she turned there was a girl that she deemed as much better looking than her, which wasn't really ideal due to the fact that she was with Michael. Addy felt like nothing compared to them, dressed in her hoodie and skinny jeans in the middle of all this. Michael tried to focus on anything but the girls for a minute to get a table, and it was easier than he thought. Looking around, he slowly realized that none of the waitresses there were half as gorgeous as Addy.
